Beruvella and Bentota - the most popular resorts in Sri Lanka, located south of Colombo. Luxury hotels, many shops and restaurants, excellent service, beautiful beaches – all conditions for a comfortable stay with appropriate prices. Water skiing, surfing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, horse riding will interest fans of outdoor activities. Bentota is a centre of water sports and one of the first coastal resorts of the former Ceylon. The calm sea (from November to March), excellent for diving, attracts lovers of scuba diving and hunting. Beruvella is considered one of the first Muslim settlements on the island, it is here that Kechimalai is located – the oldest mosque.
South of Bentota stretches a wide strip of excellent beaches Alutgama, Induruva, Kosgoda, where you can enjoy a fabulous holiday in the style of "bounty" - Paradise nature, golden sand and the purest sea. This region is famous for good hotels, excellent local cuisine and a diverse underwater world that attracts the attention of divers. In the area of Kosgoda there are Turtle Nurseries – a tourist site with interesting and informative excursions.
Negombo - located 35 km north of the capital. There are many excellent restaurants with excellent cuisine, where you can enjoy fresh lobster, crab, shrimp and local seafood dishes. The water in the port city is not as clean as in remote areas of the island, but the beaches are equipped and very comfortable. Negombo is known for its rich history and many ancient attractions. There are ancient churches, ruins of a Dutch fort, a Buddhist temple in Kelaniya.
In the south of the country is a small town Hikkaduwa, which is called a paradise for surfers and divers. There are good waves, a long coral reef with exotic fish, sunken ships and a huge selection of housing (from economy to luxury).
Ahungala - a quiet, peaceful town, imbued with Indian culture and unique local flavor, perfect for a carefree family or comfortable beach holiday.
Colombo is the largest city (with a population of over a million) and the de facto capital of Sri Lanka. Here are the Yami-ul-Affa mosque, the Presidential Palace, the fort in the old part of the city, museums with collections of historical exhibits. 12 km south of Colombo is Mount Lavinia – a small resort town with good beaches, dry sand, small waves and clear water. Mount Lavinia is a great option for those who like to combine a beach holiday with sightseeing and entertainment of the big city.
Kalutara is a popular resort where you can witness a unique Navam procession. Thousands of people walk through the streets of the city to touch the relics of the Saints, and the relics are taken out on the back of a huge elephant.
Kandy - a beautiful city, full of ancient attractions, the main of which is the famous temple of the tooth, where under the golden canopy is kept a great relic-The Tooth of the Buddha.
Nuwara Eliya is a high mountain town surrounded by tea plantations. Rock climbers, climbers, extreme sports enthusiasts and everyone who wants to enjoy the fresh mountain air and taste the famous Ceylon Tea come here.
Anuradhapura, located in the north of the island, houses revered Buddhist shrines – the Sacred Bo tree under which the Buddha rested and the Lohaprasada Palace with magnificent architecture that preserved the grandeur of the ancient city.
