General information and recreation in the Steregushee
Steregushee is a village in the north of Crimea on the shore of the Karkinit Bay of the Black Sea (Steregushee on the map of Crimea). This is the northernmost and farthest resort of the peninsula, popular with lovers of a quiet, almost secluded beach holiday on sandy beaches.
The village consists of only a couple of streets, where the houses of local residents are located, several recreation centers, camping, several village grocery stores work, and a roadside cafe opens during the peak season. The infrastructure here is extremely poorly developed: there are no ATMs, chain stores, pharmacies and gas stations. There is not even much to eat here, so when choosing accommodation, give preference to options with meals at recreation centers, otherwise you will have to cook yourself, for which, of course, you need a kitchen. In general, if you decide to go to the Steregushee, it is better to take care of everything necessary for the rest period in advance and bring it with you, otherwise you will have to go to the shops in the nearest more or less large cities Chernomorskoe or Krasnoperekopsk for more than 50 kilometers, or to the district center of the village of Razdolnoye for 25 kilometers.
✔ Advantages of the resort
- An environmentally friendly place, there are no industries and urban drains.
- Deserted and sparsely populated sandy beaches.
- Quiet rustic setting (for those who like it).
- Shallow sea, perfect for families with children.
❌ Disadvantages of the resort
- Poorly developed tourist and urban infrastructure.
- No entertainment and attractions.
- It is difficult to get there without your own transport.
- There are a lot of algae in the water and on the shore.
Despite the long sandy beaches, not all lovers of relaxing by the sea will be suitable for a holiday in the Steregushee. If you don't have your own car, it will be difficult to get here, and during your vacation, the lack of transport will make you a "hostage" of this tiny resort. There are no attractions and entertainment in the Steregushee at all, inexpensive group excursions are not for sale. Therefore, you will have to go to interesting places in the vicinity on your own, or join a group of other tourists on your own transport. Usually they visit Cape Tarkhankut near Olenevka, the Swan Islands Nature Reserve, the Kalos Limen Archaeological Park and the museum in the Chernomorskoe. Well, on foot during the day you can walk to the nearest natural attraction Bakalskaya Spit, which will be more interesting as a place for a beach holiday.
Which beaches are in the Steregushee
In the resort itself and on the coast next to it there are long sandy beaches, sometimes mixed with small pebbles and crushed shells. In some places, the shore is almost completely covered with shells. After winds and storms, garbage and algae are thrown ashore, which, unfortunately, are rarely cleaned, so they lie for several days until they are again taken by water into the sea.
Due to the presence of a large amount of algae, the water and air of Kerkinistky are considered beneficial for health, so they even come here specifically to correct their health. The reason, as some tourists believe, is a large amount of iodine released into the water and air by algae. And also, the nearby Bakal lake is rich in healing silt mud.
The beach is not very well equipped: there are only canopies, stairs to the descent and locker rooms almost since the USSR. But these places are very quiet and sparsely populated, and if you can still meet vacationers on the shore within the village, then no one is a little away for many kilometers. The depth here is small, you can safely walk through the water for 50, or even 100 meters from the shore.
Six kilometers from the Steregushee is the Bakal Spit, which is part of the landscape and recreational park of the same name. This is more than 12 kilometers of continuous sandy beach, washed on one side by the waters of the Black Sea, and on the other by the salt lake Bakalskoe. This is a very popular place for wild camping, especially at the end of the spit on Cape Sandy, where a whole spontaneous camping is formed during the peak season.
Hotels and accommodation in Steregushee, where to stay
There are not very many options where tourists can stay in the Steregushee. Basically, the accommodation options in the Steregushee are recreation centers, private mini-hotels and guest houses without signage, as well as rooms and houses for rent. Prices for accommodation by the standards of more than popular resorts of Crimea are very pleasing here, you can stay from 800 rubles per room / room for two. If you like to travel with a tent, you can stay on the shore for free at all, there are plenty of places for this on the outskirts of the village and in the vicinity. There is also a well-known camping "Visiting the Joker", which was previously located on the other side of the Crimea in the village Malorechenskoye.
You can find accommodation already on the spot, arriving in the village and walking along the main street. There you will find a lot of ads about renting housing on the pillars and gates of houses. If you do not want to waste time on the spot, then you can book accommodation on one of the sites for searching and booking accommodation, but keep in mind that not all options are presented there:

When searching for hotels in Crimea on Booking.com you will most likely receive a message - "No options found". Weather and seasons in the Watchdog, when is it better to go
The Steregushee is exclusively a beach resort, so you need to go here only in summer. Theoretically, some tourists start the beach season in May, but there is a risk of getting into bad weather this month. In addition, it should be taken into account that the tourist infrastructure in May is not ready at all, even some camp sites are closed.
Really good and warm weather, and a comfortable sea temperature for swimming are set in the second half of June. Well, the best time when there is a minimum of precipitation and the weather rarely presents unpleasant surprises in the form of storms and showers is July and August. You can stay here for a rest in September and the first half of October, but in the evenings it gets cool.

How to get to the Steregushee
The Steregushee is located in the north of Crimea, 140 kilometers from Simferopol and the peninsula's only passenger airport. In turn, Simferopol can be reached from Russian cities by train or plane:
Transport is very poorly developed here, so it is best to go here on vacation by your own or rented car. You can rent a car on arrival at the airport or in Simferopol itself, if you arrive by train. It is better to book a car in advance via the Internet, and then you will only have to get it on arrival on the spot:
If you don't drive a car, then the only reasonable way to get from the airport or from the Simferopol railway station is by taxi. You will have to drive for almost 3 hours, the trip will cost about 4000 rubles in one direction. You can order a taxi on the website intui.travel, or via the search form:
If a taxi is too expensive for you, then you can get to the Steregushee and take buses, but it can be a whole story with transfers:
- First, you need to get from the airport by any city bus or trolleybus to the Kurortnaya bus station next to the railway station. If you arrived by train, then you can walk to it.
- From the "Resort" once a day in the first half of the day, a direct bus departs to the Steregushee at a cost of 500 rubles, on the way for more than 3 hours. You can check the schedule and buy tickets at Tutu.ru. If you do not get on this direct bus, you will have to go with transfers through the village of Razdolnoye or Evpatoria.
