House Museum of poet and artist Maximilian Voloshin
Although Voloshin lived and worked in the early 20th century, the appearance of the modern resort of Koktebel owes much to him. It was he who made Koktebel the center of Bohemia and intellectuals. Being an artist and naturist, he invited creative intelligentsia from all over the Crimea to visit him, and even formed a kind of brotherhood. Therefore, a visit to this house-museum is simply mandatory for guests of the resort.
The house museum, built in 1913, today operates as a museum. The exposition contains Voloshin's works as a landscape painter. On the first floor of the museum there is a literary exposition telling about the poet's work. The second floor is a memorial part, Voloshin's workshop is located here in its original form.

Not only guests of the village come to have fun in the local water park, but people come here from Feodosia and other neighboring resorts. This is not surprising, because this is the newest of the water parks of the Crimea. Initially, it was founded as a scientific institution for studying the life of underwater mammals and using them for military purposes, but after the collapse of the USSR, an ordinary commercial Dolphinarium was organized here. Beach and landscaped park quiet bay
The beach and Landscape Park quiet bay is located approximately in the middle between Koktebel and the village of Ordzhonikidze. This is a favorite place for those who come to rest in Koktebel, but prefers Sandy and sparsely populated beaches. People come to the Bay both for a long rest in tents, and just come to relax on the beach for a day.
In our opinion, this is the best place for swimming and relaxing in Koktebel. There is fine pleasant sand, clean and calm water, in all directions there is a picturesque view of the mountains and hills. The length of the continuous sandy beach is about one and a half kilometers, and it stretches almost to the village of Ordzhonikidze, interrupted by Rocky capes. On the west side, the Bay ends with Cape Chameleon, which stands out deep in the sea and protects the beach well from waves, which, by the way, is an attraction in itself. On the other side is another Promontory. Thanks to this, the water here is much calmer, the waves are weaker, that's why the Bay is called "Quiet". The depth is small, the water warms up well. Learn more about Tiha Bay here.

🕐 Working hours: around the clock.
💵 Entrance fee / tickets price: free.
🚶 How to get there: The quiet bay is three kilometers from the center of Koktebel (Quiet bay on the map. Many paths and a dirt road lead to the Bay, and walking can be reached in 30-60 minutes. It is better not to go along the shore, but through the fields above, or along a dirt road for cars. If you go along the shore, you will have to climb a steep crumbling cliff. By car you can get there without problems on a dirt road by signs, but the car will have to leave near the checkpoint, and then about one and a half kilometers to the beach.
Cape Chameleon
Cape Chameleon (Toprakh-Kaya) is one of the most picturesque capes of the Crimea. It is located between a quiet bay and Koktebel Bay, separating them. It got its name due to the fact that at different times of the day, depending on the illumination of the sun, its slopes have different shades, i.e. it changes color like a real chameleon. Colors change from grayish blue in the morning to Golden, and at sunset you can even distinguish purple and purple shades. The Cape can even be climbed to a certain level, offering a breathtaking view of the quiet bay and Koktebel. Climbing to the very top is forbidden and dangerous, because the soil of the Cape is loose and collapses.
Another interesting Cape is that it is almost entirely composed of volcanic rocks, also known as blue clay. This clay is considered therapeutic and is used for cosmetic purposes (see all about the therapeutic mud of the Crimea).
