Attention! Simferopol Airport is closed, flights are not operated in any of the directions. In this regard, the airport bus station also does not work. Probably, the ban period will be extended. As an alternative to traveling to Crimea, use trains, buses, personal transport, or buy tickets to the nearest valid Sochi Airport.
Alupka is one of the resort villages Big Yalta, located 20 kilometers from the city center (Alupka on the map of Crimea). You can get here directly only by taxi or your own transport, and there are also rare bus services from Simferopol railway station and from the airport. If you need to get from other cities and districts, then most often you will have to make a transfer in Yalta. Therefore, in addition to this instruction, we also advise you to read our detailed article, how and how to get to Yalta on your own.
But before planning an independent trip to Alupka, we advise you to check the prices for ready-made tours. If you buy such a tour in advance or "catch" hot prices, then you can relax with a tour with a flight and transfer in a good hotel at the price of a regular flight. You can find and book a vacation in Alupka at no extra charge directly from tour operators on these Russian tour search and booking sites:
In the center of Alupka, on Lenin Street, 4, there is a small bus station where all buses arrive and depart (Alupka bus station on the map). The toll booth phone number for inquiries is 8 (3654) 72-21-90.
Another place to arrive in the city is a stop on the South Coast highway called "Nursery" (stop on the map). Passing intercity buses from Yalta or Alushta to Sevastopol and back stop there, as well as some suburban minibuses along the Greater Yalta. From this stop you can get to Alupka on foot, from a few hundred meters to two kilometers, depending on where you need to go.
So, you can get to Alupka from the cities and regions of the Russian Federation through the main transport hub of the Crimea – Simferopol, where the nearest airport and railway station are located. Flights from most regions of the Russian Federation are currently operating to them, and additional flights are being launched during the high tourist season.

Upon arrival at the airport or at the railway station directly to Alupka, it is best to take a taxi, but if you really need to save money and you are traveling alone, you can get there on very rare direct bus flights or with a transfer via Simferopol or Yalta. Let's tell you more:
By taxi from the airport and railway station to Alupka
A taxi ride from the airport to Alupka will cost from 1600 rubles. It is most expensive to order a car at the counter in the arrival terminal and whether directly from the drivers in the parking lot. You can bargain with drivers in the parking lot, but in general they do not lower prices lower than ordering by phone or on the websites of local taxi companies. But through the applications of aggregators Yandex, Uber, etc. It will not be possible to book a trip because they do not work in Crimea because of sanctions.
We advise you not to immediately abandon the idea of taking a taxi or a tourist transfer to Alupka, if it seems expensive to you. A simple calculation shows that it is even cheaper to take a taxi with a group or family than by bus. In addition, you will have to make transfers with buses (and all this with luggage), and then walk to the hotel from the bus station on foot.
If you are used to planning everything on vacation in advance, then we advise you to use a tourist transfer. This is the same as a taxi, but with increased comfort and a driver meeting you at the airport or at the train station with a sign. Payment is made for the entire car, and when traveling with a company or family, you can save money. Passenger car, luxury car, minibuses for large groups are available for ordering. Check the prices for the transfer, and if you wish, you can book it on the sites kiwitax.ru and intui.travel, or directly through this search form from Intui.travel:
By bus from the airport to Alupka
There are rare direct buses from the airport to Alupka, and you can also transfer via the center of Simferopol or Yalta. In general, transport on these routes goes a lot and often, you can combine all this. For example, here is the most difficult route, but allows you not to wait long for transfers:
From the airport to the bus station "Kurortnaya" in Simferopol → there is a transfer by bus or trolleybus No. 52 to Yalta bus station → in Yalta transfer by commuter bus or taxi to Alupka.
To make all this clearer, we advise you to read our instructions, how to get from the airport to Yalta, and here we will consider the most convenient option with transfers:
-
Direct bus
A direct bus departs from the airport bus station to Alupka several times a day. The fare starts from 600 rubles. For example, in 2021, such a bus ran 5 times, but it is not yet known how it will be launched in the future after the airport reopens. Drive about 3 and a half hours. For the schedule, see https://krimavtotrans.info, bus.tutu.ru (there is an online booking).
-
Via Simferopol
If there were no suitable direct flights, then you can continue your journey with a transfer through Simferopol. First, from the airport by city buses or trolleybuses No. 49 or 20 you need to get to bus station Kurortnaya AC-2 in Simferopol. The journey takes 30-40 minutes, the fare costs 28 rubles.
Further, up to 11 flights a day depart from Kurortnaya (aka AC-2 in the schedules) to Alupka, however, some of these flights are from the airport. The cost starts from 500 rubles, 3 hours on the way. In the low season, the number of flights can be greatly reduced. Check the schedule on the carrier's official website https://krimavtotrans.info, or bus.tutu.ru
-
Via Yalta
In our opinion, Yalta is the most convenient option. To do this, take a direct bus from the airport to Yalta, they depart approximately every hour, cost from 550 rubles, 2 and a half hours on the way. Then, at the bus station in Yalta, transfer to the suburban minibus No. 107 or bus No. 115 (departing every 30-90 minutes), or to any intercity bus in the direction of Sevastopol to the stop at the turnoff to Alupka. Also from Yalta bus station to Alupka you can take a taxi from 500 rubles.
But just in case, the bus schedule at the Alupki bus station is from Yandex.timetables, but double-check this information, since it is not always accurate:

By bus from the railway station to Alupka
The ways to get from Simferopol railway station to Alupka are about the same as the options described above from the airport. These are either direct buses from the "Resort" bus station, or a transfer via Yalta:
-
Direct bus
The bus station "Kurortnaya" (aka AC-2 in the schedules) is a couple of minutes walk away at the exit from the railway station. From her to Alupka up to 11 times a day, buses costing from 500 rubles recover according to the schedule, 3 hours on the way. In winter, the number of flights can be greatly reduced. Check the schedule on the carrier's official website https://krimavtotrans.info, or bus.tutu.ru

Via Yalta
If you do not want to wait for a direct bus, then you can easily get there with a transfer via Yalta. Moreover, this way you can get there even cheaper than by direct buses, if you use a trolleybus.
Again, from the Kurortnaya bus station, take the nearest bus to Yalta (departs every 20 minutes, cost from 400 USD), or trolleybus No. 52 (departs every 30 minutes, cost from 180 USD). Drive 2.5-3 hours.
Then, at the bus station in Yalta, transfer to the suburban minibus No. 107 or bus No. 115 (departing every 30-90 minutes), or to any intercity bus in the direction of Sevastopol to the stop at the turn to Alupka. Also from Yalta bus station to Alupka you can take a taxi from 500 rubles.
From Yalta and other cities to Alupka
Since Alupka is one of the districts of Greater Yalta, the resort is connected by commuter bus service to Yalta bus station and other resort villages. In particular, you can get here from Simeiz, Katsiveli, Koreiza/Mishora, Gaspra. Unfortunately, this is not a very convenient way for tourists to travel, since flights usually do not adhere to schedules, and you can easily stand for more than an hour waiting. But this is the most budget-friendly way to get to Alupka from Yalta. There are two routes here:
- Bus number 115, see route on the map
- Minibus #107, see route on the map
On both routes, the fare depends on the distance, i.e. depending on which stop you need to get to. For reference, a trip to Alupka from the bus station will cost around 36 rubles.
In addition to these suburban routes, you can also get from Yalta by any intercity bus to Sevastopol, Bakhchisarai, Yevpatoria, etc. in this direction. They go even more often than suburban ones, but they don't go to Alupka itself. You will have to get off at the turn on Alupka at the stop "Nursery", and from there walk on foot (stop on the map). But keep in mind that intercity buses cost almost twice as much as suburban buses for the same distance, and not all flights stop at the Nursery, be sure to check this before buying.
If you need to get to Alupka from other cities of the Crimea or the Russian Federation, then you can get directly only on the flights already mentioned above from the airport and from the Simferopol railway station from the Kurortnaya bus station. These buses, among other things, can be boarded in Alushta.
There are no other direct bus services to Alupka, and therefore it is best to transfer from other cities via Yalta (you can get to Yalta by bus from almost all Crimean cities), or by the above-mentioned passing buses along the Yuzhnoberezhnoye Highway.
And here is the schedule for Yalta bus station from Yandex.timetables, you can use it to plan a route with a transfer:

To Alupka by car
If you are traveling to Alupka by your car, then after crossing the new Crimean bridge (free of charge), you can get to the resort by two routes: through Simferopol, or along the coast through Feodosia, Sudak, Alushta, Yalta, etc.
- If your goal is to get to Alupka as quickly and economically as possible, then it is better to go along the new Tavrida highway through Simferopol-> Alushta->Yalta. You will have to drive 300 kilometers, which will take 4-6 hours, depending on the situation on the roads. You can also go along the route Tar Crimea, Simferopol, Alushta, Yalta, the distance is the same. Tavrida is an excellent high-speed highway without traffic jams, with rest areas and gas stations, it's a pleasure to drive along it.
- If you choose a route along the coast, then you will need to travel about the same distance. But since there is a more complicated road with serpentines and settlements along the coast to Alushta, you will spend up to 8 hours in time, and you will use more fuel. But the plus of this route is that it is much more picturesque, the views of the sea along the road are simply fascinating. In addition, there are many sights to meet along the way.
Since traveling by car is always fraught with risk, we advise you to issue voluntary CASCO insurance in addition to compulsory CTP insurance, which will protect you from unforeseen expenses in case of an accident, unpleasant weather surprises, damage to the car by ill-wishers, theft and other troubles. And if you are running out of CTP, then today it is most profitable to arrange it online on these sites:
