How and how to get to Mezmai

Public transport to Mezmai is very poorly developed, and it is best to come here by private car or with excursions. If you don't have your own transport, you can take buses through Absheronsk (they only go three times a week) or by taxi. You can also buy one- or two-day excursions to Mezmai from resorts of the Krasnodar Territory.

If you want to get to Mezmai from other regions without your car, you can get to Krasnodar, Goryachy Klyuch or Khadyzhensk by train, fly to Krasnodar airport by plane or get to Absheronsk by intercity buses, and then the "last mile" to Mezmai by taxi or commuter buses. By car to Mezmai

A good asphalt road leads to Mezmaya through Absheronsk. The last 52 kilometers is a winding road with sharp turns, descents and ascents. Any driver can drive along it, but be careful when driving, do not exceed the set speed. In turn, good asphalt leads to Absheronsk from Maikop, Goryachy Klyuch and Krasnodar. If you do not know which route to choose, then rely on the navigator, it will offer you the best way.

From Maikop to Mezmai there is a shorter road through the villages of Dagestan or Bezvodnaya, but it is partially unpaved: It will be necessary to drive 13 kilometers on a good gravel primer, and it will be 22 kilometers shorter than through Absheronsk. You can use it to go to Mezmaya from resorts of Adygea, for example, from Kamennomostsky and Dakhovskaya.

If you want to get to Mezmai from the Black Sea resorts of the region, it is best to go through Goryachy Klyuch, the whole road will be on asphalt. But during the high season, there may be many hours of traffic jams on the Tuapse-Dzhubga-Goryachy Klyuch section of the road, so you can use an alternative route through the Shahumyan Pass (Shahumyan). The Tupse-Shahumyan -Absheronsk route is only 98 kilometers, while 209 kilometers will have to be driven through Goryachy Klyuch, i.e. twice as long. The road here is good, asphalt almost all the way except for 7 kilometers of crushed stone through the pass itself. This gravel section is maintained by road services in an acceptable condition and it can be driven by any car at a slow speed, and the only problem on it is shaking and a lot of dust.

Another short dirt road connects Mezmai with the village of Kamennomostsky and other resorts of Adygea. It's only 28 kilometers, but it's a very bad primer through the forest, which not every car and driver can overcome. Moreover, the road leads from Mezmai to the descent, and from Adygea to the ascent, and only trucks and serious full-drive SUVs can overcome this ascent. On conventional crossovers, it's better not to go on this road.

At the entrance to Mezmai, the asphalt ends abruptly, all roads in the village are only unpaved and rocky. You can drive through them in any car without any problems, but you need to drive slowly and with caution, otherwise you can damage the car. There are also several automobile bridges over rivers in the village, including a wooden one.

There is no gas station in Mezmai, the nearest one is in Absheronsk. There are network Lukoil, Rosneft and others. Please note that the consumption of gasoline due to the descents and ascents is large, it is better to go here with at least half a tank.

There are no problems with parking in the village, there are no signs prohibiting parking or stopping either. You can park your car while walking to the sights at the sites before the start of the route or anywhere on the side of the road, while all this is free.

By bus to Mezmai

You can get to Mezmai by bus only from Absheronsk, there are no other options. There are no buses at all, including from Guamka, either. The bus (minibus) departs from the stop next to the Absheronskaya bus station (Absheronsk station on the map)., the fare starts from 100 rubles.

Buses run only three times a week on Tuesday, Friday and Wednesday. And during the low season or with low demand, flights may be canceled altogether, and then it will be left to go only by taxi. By plane to Mezmai

The nearest airport to Mezmai is located in Krasnodar (Pashkovsky Airport), where many flights from cities and regions of the Russian Federation, as well as international flights, are operated.

If you decide to go by public transport, then you will first have to get from the airport by public transport to the Krasnodar-1 bus station in the city center (at least 1 hour on the way), transfer to an intercity bus to Absheronsk, and from Absheronsk, in turn, take a taxi or a local bus as indicated above. This whole move can take a whole day, and there is a chance to get stuck somewhere along the way for the night due to the cancellation of bus flights or not connecting according to schedule.

By train to Mezmai

By train to Mezmay, it is most convenient to go to Krasnodar (the most flights and the easiest to get there), and you can also go to Goryachy Klyuch, Belorechenskaya or the station in Khadyzhensk. The closest of all the listed stations is Khadyzhenskaya. A lot of passing trains to Adler stop there, so in high season (in summer) it won't be a problem at all to find a suitable train flight there. In turn, it will be necessary to get from Khadyzhensk by taxi (from 1000 USD) or by buses with a transfer in Absheronsk.

How to get to Mezmai from Guamka

The villages are only 8 kilometers from each other along the Guam Gorge, but the asphalt road bypasses 22 kilometers. There are no direct buses, you will have to go with a transfer or by taxi.

Buses connect both villages only with Absheron, and they can be transferred to Nizhny Novgorod at the turn. But you need to adjust to the schedule, because they go very rarely and unstable.
