Kamennomostskiy (Kamennomostskiy, formerly Hadzhokh) is a village in the Republic of Adygea 40 kilometers from the capital of the Republic of Maykop at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level (on the map). This is a very small settlement with a population of just over 7000 people, but it can be called the tourist capital of Adygea. It is here, and not in the city of Maykop, that tourists and travelers who want to get acquainted with the beauties and sights of this beautiful mountain corner of Russia rush. Therefore, if you are going to Adygea for the first time and do not know where it is better to go, you can safely go to Kamennomostsky.
Of all the resort settlements of Adygea, Kamennomostsky is the most developed and populated. You should not expect to see beautiful parks and pedestrian tourist streets, shopping malls and five-star hotels here, but most of the tourist infrastructure is located here. In Kamennomostskoye, it is easiest to find accommodation in a hotel, guesthouse or private house, purchase excursions, buy groceries before a multi-day hike to Caucasian Reserve. There is a supermarket "Magnet" in the center, a family department store "Pyaterochka" appeared in 2019, an old supermarket and several markets, including with tourist goods, work. Two of the most popular attractions of Adygea, the Rufabgo waterfalls and the Khadjokh Gorge, are located in the village. It is also a convenient place to go to other tourist places in the region, as well as the easiest way to get here.

Among all the tourist villages of Adygea, there is the largest selection of housing and the lowest prices. You can find accommodation in a private house from 350 rubles per bed; a room with minimal amenities in a private guesthouse from 1500 rubles; good hotel rooms from 2000 rubles. If you are targeting the private sector, then in the center of the village there are offers of housing on fences and poles, so after wandering for a couple of hours you will almost certainly be able to pick up something for yourself, although it is better to book accommodation in advance.

How to get to Kamennomostsky
The village of Kamennomostsky is the main tourist center of Adygea, so tourists most often stay here. But, despite the importance of the village, public transport is very poorly developed. You can get there only with the help of suburban buses from Maykop, but the railway station in Kamennomostsky has been inactive for many years, the movement of electric trains is not carried out here.
By plane to Kamennomostsky you will have to get through the airport Krasnodar, and by train via Belorechensk or Krasnodar-1 railway station with a transfer by taxi or suburban buses. Direct buses from other regions of the Russian Federation also cannot be reached, and you will have to change in Maykop and Krasnodar, and with a change of bus station. The best way to visit Kamennomostsky and Adygea in general is a personal car, especially since it will also be difficult to get to the sights of the Republic by local transport.

Attractions in Kamennomostskoye
The village of Kamennomostsky is the center of tourism in Adygea, and not only because it has the most developed infrastructure and a large number of accommodation options (when compared with other settlements of the Republic), but also because the most famous sights are located here: Rufabgo waterfalls and Khadzhokhskaya gorge. Both of these places are paid for tourists to visit, but they can easily be viewed for free, and this is completely legal, and how to do it is written below. Also in Kamennomostsky it is necessary to walk along the tourist route of the Meshoko gorge or the Aminovka River gorge, you can visit several museums, do active recreation in the Meshoko extreme Park.
Individual tours to other attractions of Adygea are also offered from the village: the Caucasian Reserve, the village of Dakhovskaya, horseback riding and quad biking, rafting, visiting the granite Canyon, etc. Here you will not find a stand for selling excursions on the street, as in other popular resorts, but in general there will be no problems with booking a tour: there are advertising signs and announcements with phone numbers of tour organizers everywhere, and some hotels offer contacts for communication and services for booking excursions.
