Apsheronsk - a small town in the Krasnodar Territory and the center of the Absheron district, which includes the mountain resorts of Guamka, Mezmay and Temnoleskaya (Apsheronsk on the map). This is a developed city with a population of just under 40 thousand people, but it is not a full-fledged tourist resort. It is interesting primarily as a place of transfer or overnight on the way to Guamka, Mezmay and Temnoleskaya, since only through it you can reach them by public transport or by your own car.

It makes sense to stay in Apsheronsk if you could not book accommodation in Guamka or Mezmay at a reasonable price, or if all available rooms simply ran out, which often happens during weekly weekends or long holidays. At the same time, in Apsheronsk, accommodation can be found at a much more attractive price. And here you can plan an overnight stay for tourists who travel by public transport and simply could not take the local bus to the mountain resorts on time.

How to get to Apsheronsk

It is best to get to Apsheronsk and the mountain resorts of the district by private car. A good asphalt road leads to Mezmay and Guamka and is kept in good condition, constantly repaired. The exception is the village of Temnoleskaya, to which the last few kilometers will have to go on a rocky primer.

By public transport, Apsheronsk can only be reached by buses. There is a large bus station here (Apsheronsk station on the map), built on a grand scale in the Soviet era, but it is almost not used, and is connected by flights only to the cities of the Krasnodar Territory, Adygea and Astrakhan region. There are direct flights from Krasnodar, Anapa and Maikop, as well as transit flights from Khadyzhensk, Sochi, Astrakhan, Labinsk, Gelendzhik, Belorechensk, Chernihiv, Nizhny Novgorod, Mezmay and Guamka. Commuter bus schedules to Mezmay and Guamka as of 2021:

• Apsheronsk-Guamka: daily 06:00, 08:00, 12:00, 15:00
• Guamka-Apsheronsk: daily 07:00, 09:00, 13:00, 16:00
• Apsheronsk-Mezmay: only Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 07:00 and 15:00
• Mezmay-Apsheronsk: only Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 14:00

Just keep in mind that the schedule may be reduced by season and on weekends, you will have to find out everything on the spot.

If you will get here from distant regions, it is best to use the plane or train, and the last part of the way to Apsheronsk to do by bus or taxi. The nearest airport is in Krasnodar (Pashkovsky airport), where there are many low-cost flights from the regions of the Russian Federation.

From the airport it is most convenient to get by taxi or use a ready-made tourist transfer. If you decide to go by public transport, then you will first have to get from the airport by local transport to the Krasnodar-1 bus station in the city center (at least 1 hour on the way), and already there take an intercity bus to Apsheronsk. By train it is also most convenient to go to Krasnodar. Of course, there are railway stations closer to Apsheronsk, for example in Goryachy Klyuch, but it's cheaper and easier to get by bus or taxi from Krasnodar. Attractions in Apsheronsk, what to see

There are very few attractions in Apsheronsk, and it makes no sense to specially stop here to get acquainted with them.
