Village Temnoleskaya - a tiny settlement in the Krasnodar Territory, 7 kilometers from the famous tourist mezmai village and 172 kilometers from Krasnodar (Temnoleskaya on the map). Its population is just over 100 people, and it consists of only a few dozen houses. Also nearby is the Russian farm, consisting of just one street. Previously, Temnoleskaya was called the village of Mezmaysky.
Temnoleskaya is not an independent resort, but, one might say, the younger brother of Mezmay. People rarely go here purposefully, since there is not even a shop, but there are several guest houses and recreation centers where you can stay as an alternative if you could not find accommodation directly in Mezmay. To the nearest infrastructure in the center of Mezmay, where there are two shops and you can find tourist services (excursions in the surrounding area), you can walk 5 kilometers along a trail through the forest, or walk along a dirt road 7 kilometers.

Weather in Temnoleskaya, tourist seasons
Winters in Temnoleskaya are not very cold, summers are not too hot, in general the climate is mild throughout the year. The coldest months are December-February, but even at this time the temperature rarely falls below 0℃. In winter, the surrounding mountains are covered with snow. The tourist season lasts all year round, but in winter the number of available attractions is limited, walking along the routes is not safe.
High tourist season and the best time to travel from June to September. In these months, the air warms up to +25 during the day, there is not much precipitation. Nevertheless, due to the high location, even in the hottest months, it is cool in the evenings and at night, take warm clothes.
Separately, it is worth saying about May. This is already the warmest month, but also the rainiest of the year, so it is not very recommended for hiking.

How to get to Temnoleskaya
The same road leads to the village as to Mezmay, so you need to get here in the same ways. From the entrance to the village of Mezmay, where the asphalt ends, to the center of the village you will need to walk or drive another 5 kilometers along a rocky dirt road, which any car will overcome, but it is better to go slowly and carefully. Buses from Apsheronsk with Temnoleskaya do not reach, so it is better to get out also at the turn at the entrance to Mezmay, and then on foot or by hitchhiking.

Attractions in Temnoleskaya, what to see
Directly in the village there is nothing to see and nothing to do, all the sights are in the vicinity and near Mezmay. The most famous and visited place is Orlinaya polka. There are also waterfalls, caves, observation decks. All of them are visited independently or with excursions in the form of hiking trails, some can be partially reached by off-road vehicles. In the Darkwood excursion itself, it is difficult to find, unless you find a local guide or an off-road driver for an individual excursion. This is easier in Mezmay.
