Another pedestrian tourist area, Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, is located in the historical part of the city behind Lake Nizhny Kaban. Its pedestrian part is formed by Kayuma Nasyri Street. A distinctive feature of the area is a large number of mosques, and in the evenings you can hear the singing of the muezzin, inviting to prayer, and there is a feeling that you are in a distant Eastern country, and not at all in Russia. The pedestrian part of the settlement is not at all the same as, for example, Bauman Street. There is not a large number of tourists, and there is practically no entertainment, souvenir shops and screaming signs of boutiques, but the architecture and way of life of the old settlement are carefully preserved.
