The price in the tourist area near Bauman Street or Kremlin is about 1800 rubles, further from the center you can find housing and from 1400 rubles. Book in advance or not

Which is the best place/area to choose
As for choosing a place to stay, for tourist purposes it is best to settle in the tourist area of the city. This area is formed by the pedestrian Bauman Street and the Kremlin (tourist area on the map). It is advisable that your hotel or accommodation is located within walking distance from Bauman or the Kremlin, since tourists spend most of their time walking along Bauman Street, and most of the attractions of Kazan are located here . Also, just an ideal place for tourist accommodation is the area of Gabdulla Tukaya Square. There is a metro station, a huge shopping center "Ring", many restaurants, including fast food (McDonald's, Burger King, KFC), the pedestrian streets of Bauman and Peterburgskaya begin.
If you cannot afford accommodation in the tourist center of Kazan, or you just want to save a little, then you can stay further away, but preferably near one of the metro stations. In this case, you will be able to get to one of the metro stations on Bauman Street (Kremlevskaya station or Tukaya Square) in just 25 rubles and 15 minutes.
