Parking in Kazan for tourists

If you decide to go to Kazan on vacation in your car, or rent a car on the spot for more convenient movement around the city and sightseeing, it will not be superfluous to first learn about the state of parking in Kazan. After all, like most major Russian cities, the execution is becoming less accessible to motorists due to the reduction of free parking and the introduction of paid parking spaces.

Parking fines

The penalty for unpaid municipal parking is 2500 rubles.

For stopping or parking in places for the disabled, a fine of 3000 to 5000 rubles is issued, and the car can be evacuated, for which you will have to pay an additional 1200 rubles (1200 tow truck + 61 rubles for each hour of fine parking). A fine in the wrong place is also punishable by a fine of 1500 to 3000 rubles and evacuation of the car.

Also, a fine is issued if you leave the car in a paid municipal parking lot without payment, or even if you forget to extend the payment. The fine in this case is 2500 rubles plus evacuation.

Free parking

For a long time, the car can be left free of charge in the courtyards of houses or hotels where you are staying, but it is better to check in advance before booking about the availability of such an opportunity. The courtyards of most residential buildings in the center and tourist area are closed from free passage by Gates or barriers, and are accessible only to residents of the House. As a rule, the owners of rented housing provide guests with the opportunity to use the courtyard parking, but sometimes ask for an additional amount. These points are better specified in advance before booking. Even if there is no courtyard parking or will not be available, ask the owners to orient you where it is better to put the car nearby, they always help in this. Paid municipal parking

In Kazan, there is a system of paid municipal parking, called "Unified urban parking space of the city of Kazan". As a rule, these are the most convenient places, and sometimes even the only opportunity to park a car near the sights. Municipal parking is located directly on the roadway, and it is almost impossible to find such free places in the tourist area. For tourists it is, of course, very inconvenient. And it's not just about money, but also in the payment system itself, with which you have to break your head a little.

• Parking fee (from March 1, 2017): 30-70 rubles per hour depending on the location. On Sundays and public holidays, at night (from 21:00 to 07:00) – free of charge. Please note that on Saturday parking is paid.
• Billing method: initially, a minimum parking time of 30 minutes is charged. i.e. even if you stop for 20 minutes, you still have to pay 30 minutes. Then the time is charged for 15 minutes. It is also allowed to stop for up to 15 minutes if it is required for loading/unloading, or boarding passengers.
• Payment method: payment is made using a mobile application, SMS message or bank card at the parking meter. Detailed payment instructions are found in each parking lot on the billboards.

Paid private parking

Private parking is Cheaper Than municipal parking, especially for a long time. But they are not always in a convenient place for tourists. Here is a list of paid private parking known to us:
