AbkhaziaPitsunda is a fairly extensive Resort, besides, other neighboring villages and resorts traditionally belong to it. Among them there are developed places located close to the center of the resort and with developed infrastructure, and there are also more remote ones, almost without their tourist amenities and rustic surroundings. Therefore, if you decide to relax in Pitsunda, you should carefully consider the choice of the area and the beach on which your hotel or rented accommodation will be located, otherwise there is a chance to spoil the rest with unjustified expectations.
To do this, we have prepared a brief overview of the beaches and areas of Pitsunda (presented below). And when you decide on the choice, you can book a hotel in the area you like using the map or search form:
Pitsunda

The center of Pitsunda and its central beach, in our opinion, the most convenient place to relax. There is also an excellent Pebble Beach, and very long, and all the necessary infrastructure, and beauty around, and entertainment. The beach is great for families with children, the depth is small. What is still good, the coast is cleaned, there are necessary beach amenities: changing cabins, toilets, deck chairs, awnings, and of course traditional beach entertainment.
The inconvenience here, perhaps, is only that the beach is quite far to walk, from the center of almost one and a half kilometers. Well, keep in mind that in the high season there are a lot of vacationers.
Ldzaa (Fish Factory)
The village of Ldzaa, aka Lidzava, or fish factory, is located a little east of the center of Pitsunda Bay, which protects the beaches from winds and waves. This is the second most developed infrastructure in Pitsunda, after the center. There are many shops, there is a market, many cafes and restaurants, there are even late-night establishments. However, do not expect a riot of nightlife here, because as in all of Pitsunda, the rest here is calm, family.
The beach is long, almost 4 kilometers. On the shore there are small pebbles, which, as they move away from the center of Pitsunda to the east (towards the village of Agaraki), turns into sand. The entrance to the water is mostly steep, the depth is large. Entertainment and amenities on the beach are minimal.
Agaraki
The village of Agaraki, also called Amzhikuhua or Monash Gorge, is the only resort in Abkhazia where there is a completely sandy beach with beautiful yellow sand. Its length is about one and a half kilometers. True, at the very edge of the water almost everywhere is covered with a layer of pebbles, but children will at least enjoy playing in the sand on the shore. The infrastructure here is poorly developed, there are almost no hotels, only the private sector. Between Agaraki and Ldzaa on the shore there is an AutoCamp.
Alakhadze Village (Alakhadze)

Alakhadze is located between Pitsunda and Gagra, 8 kilometers from the center of Pitsunda, and it is the first resort that you will reach on your way to Pitsunda by leaving the main highway. There is a very wide choice of accommodation, but there are almost no hotels and boarding houses, and mainly the private sector and guest houses, which, by the way, are available through booking search engines, for example Hotellook. Also here is one of the best campsites in Abkhazia – "Wild Harbor", where you can stay in your own or rented tent, put your car in the parking lot.
The beach in Alakhadze is very long and wide, almost never crowded. The beach is Sandy and pebbly, gray sand on the shore, and pebbles at the water's edge and under water. The entrance to the water is quite sharp, the depth increases quickly. The situation in the village is quiet, rustic, the infrastructure is poorly developed. There is no entertainment or attractions. You can relax and have fun during your vacation in Alakhadzy only on the beach, where traditional beach Entertainment appears in high season. In general, this place will suit you only if you are ready to live in a rustic environment, and besides the beach you do not need anything.
Citrus State Farm
This small village is closely adjacent to the village of Alakhadzy from the side of Pitsunda, sharing the beach with it. It is the same here, Sandy and pebbly, with gray sand and pebbles near the water. The water in the sea is clean, but the cleanliness of the beach itself wants to leave the best, it is simply not cleaned here. The same impression is created from the village itself: dust, dirt and ruin.
The infrastructure here is even less developed than in Alakhadze, there is not even a normal place to eat. There is a cozy Boarding House-Hotel "Pine Grove" with very high prices, as well as several private mini-hotels and guest houses. The village is devastated and desolate, so if you do not stay in a boarding house, you will most likely experience difficulties with even the most basic inconveniences, even with electricity.
We can advise rest in the village of Citrus only to the most unassuming tourists, or if you have enough money to stay in the Pine Grove boarding house.
Poultry and dairy

These two villages are about five kilometers from the center of Pitsunda, and they can be reached by the beach even on foot. They are adjacent to each other, and the boarding house "Boxwood Grove" separates them. Both villages are not very suitable for permanent recreation, and will appeal only to those who want to be away from infrastructure and comfort. The problem is to find even a store, not to mention places where you can eat. The atmosphere here is rustic, there is no entertainment and attractions at all. The beach, with the exception of the site of the boarding house "Boxwood Grove", is not cleaned. Of the pluses, perhaps, only the fact that the beach is very spacious and deserted. These areas are more likely to be more suitable for coming here for a holiday during the day from Pitsunda, if the beach there seems too crowded to you.
Book a hotel or accommodation in Pitsunda:
You can search for hotels or accommodation in Pitsunda on the spot upon arrival, and it is not necessary to do it yourself, you can use the services of intermediaries. They will meet you after passing the border, they can be found in the center of Pitsunda, or just contact the counter for the sale of excursions. But be careful when renting private housing, as cheating tourists or providing poor quality housing in Abkhazia has become the norm. Do not take my word for it, and before settling in, Be sure to check the room and the equipment (air conditioning, TV, lighting), the availability of hot water.
It is much more convenient than searching on the spot, booking accommodation in advance via the Internet.
