Description and is it worth a visit
Temple of the Mother Buddha or Kaodai Temple in Vung Tau (Cao Dai Temple of Vung Tau) is a little–known but very interesting temple with unique architecture and slightly unconventional religion. If you haven't visited other Kadoai temples yet, it's worth a look here.
Kaodai is a mixture of Buddhism, Catholicism, Confucianism, Taoism. All followers of this religion are advised to wear white clothes and observe strict commandments. A feature and symbol of worship in the kaodai temples is the image of a large eye in a triangle with diverging rays in different directions - the heavenly eye. This symbol can be found on the facades and on the altar of the shrine.
The temple is made in the traditional style of the Kaodai religion: it is decorated with two high bell towers, which you can climb to explore the surroundings. The roof with curves resembles Chinese temples. There is a statue of Buddha Maitreya on the roof between the towers.
Inside the temple, rows of green columns decorated with writhing figures of dragons and phoenixes in red and yellow tones attract attention. The ceiling is divided into nine sections, each of which symbolizes the vault of heaven, studded with clouds and stars. In the center of the altar is the image of the eye – a symbol of worship of the Heavenly Eye. He reminds us that although people can hide their actions from others, they will not be able to hide them from heaven and earth.
