Description and is it worth a visit
The Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theater in Ho Chi Minh City is a traditional Vietnamese show that appeared in the IX century. Those who are interested in the traditions and culture of Vietnam should visit one of these unique performances. There are few such theaters left in the country, this one is one of the largest, the second one is in Hanoi.
If you've already seen a similar show in Hanoi, then you won't see anything new here. But if you have never been to a puppet theater on the water, then this place is just a must-visit, because this theater is a kind of cultural business card of Vietnam. The main theme of the performances is to show the life of ordinary people working in rice fields. All scenes are accompanied by the playing of national musical instruments. However, to the great regret of foreign tourists, it will be difficult to understand anything from what is happening on the stage, since the puppet show is held only in Vietnamese.
The theater hall is small and always filled to capacity, so it's better to buy tickets in advance, at least a few hours before the start, and preferably a day in advance. If you choose the first or second row, then be prepared for the fact that you will not get out of there dry. The most grateful spectators of the Golden Dragon Theater are children, so during the presentation, even near the building, you can hear the hum of joyful children's voices from the open windows. The performance lasts 50 minutes.
Behind the theater there is a small park with a Temple of the kings of Kung, where you can walk before or after the performance.
