By taxi from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City

A taxi ride will take 6-8 hours against an hourly flight. But given the time it will take to travel to and from the airport, the need to arrive in advance for registration, the result is almost the same.

The cost of a taxi from Nha Trang, although it seems expensive, but if you travel in a group, it will cost comparable to air travel and even cheaper. For example, a minivan transfer for 13 people will cost from $ 250, which is $ 19 per person. A regular passenger car will cost $ 150 for four, which is $ 37.5 per person.

By bus from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City

In our opinion, a bus ride is the best option in terms of time and cost for single travelers and couples, and especially for thrifty tourists.

There are many different routes between the cities of different companies, depart and arrive from/at different bus stations, from their offices, from the tourist area, pick up from hotels.

Here are ready-made instructions for you how to get there:

• Minivans and Limousines

  

  In travel agencies and hotels in Nha Trang, you can buy minivan tickets to Ho Chi Minh City. They are sent from their offices in the center or picked up from a travel agency or hotel. It is not necessary to buy them in advance or online, but it is advisable at least on the previous day to be picked up from the hotel in the morning. But to be honest, given the length of the trip, we do not recommend driving this route in minivans, it's too tiring. It is better to use large sleeping buses, as described below.

• Big buses

  

  Another option that we have tried many times and recommended is large sleeping buses. This route is carried by a large bus company Futa Bus, we make almost all trips to the south of Vietnam with them. But there are other companies with large buses. All large buses depart from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City from the new South bus station, which is located very far from the center, it can only be reached by taxi. But if you buy a ticket at least a day in advance, then usually the ticket price includes a transfer from the hotel or from the office in the center of Nha Trang to the bus station to transfer to a large bus. You only need to request this service when buying a ticket, by default it may not be offered.

  Important! Previously, the main bus station in Nha Trang was located near the city center, but now it has been moved to a new location far out of town (Nha Trang South Bus Station on the map), all old bus stations are closed. Now you can't get from/to the new bus station by city buses, only by taxi from 160,000 DONG auto taxi (rate temporary unavailable USD) or 52,000 motorcycle taxi (1.98 USD). Therefore, it is better to buy tickets with a transfer or immediately to the tourist area.

  In Ho Chi Minh City, large intercity buses arrive at several different bus stations on the outskirts of the city. From there to the hotels in the center can be reached by taxi from 50,000 dong, and there are also many city buses. But Futa Bus again offers a transfer to the center of Ho Chi Minh City to the tourist area and Pham Ngu Lao Street in the ticket price, you only need to request this when buying. It is possible that other carriers offer this option, please check this when purchasing. We advise you to overpay a little for a ticket with a transfer to the tourist area, than then get to the center by taxi or city buses yourself.

By train from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City

A minimum of 6 trains to Nha Trang depart daily from Nha Trang Railway Station. Travel time is 7-8 hours on different trains. The departure station in Nha Trang is located near the tourist area, you can even walk in 15-25 minutes with light luggage, or by taxi from 30,000 VND (railway station on the map).

Tickets can be purchased directly at the station in Ho Chi Minh City or at the sales office in the tourist area at 275C Pham Ngu Lao. You can also book and purchase tickets online on websites:

But none of these sites accept Russian cards, and this is the main problem, since it is advisable to buy train tickets in Vietnam in advance. Before recovery or on the day of dispatch, tickets at the ticket offices at the station can also be purchased, but there is no guarantee of availability, and there can only be seats.

Tickets are also sold at travel agencies on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, but also at a surcharge. Sometimes there are drawdowns with travel agencies when they sell cheap class tickets to tourists at the price of an expensive class, so be careful.

In Ho Chi Minh City, trains arrive at the main Ga Sai Gon station also almost in the city center (station position on the map). It is almost 3 kilometers from the tourist area of Pham Ngu Lao Street, so it is better to take a taxi. A trip through the applications will cost from 80,000 VND (rate temporary unavailable USD).
