American Dan Sin Market or Dan Singh (Dan Sinh Market) is one of the most unusual and interesting markets for tourists in the center of Ho Chi Minh city. It can be visited not only and not even so much for shopping, but as a museum shop and a tourist attraction. At least the men will definitely like it here.
In general, this market specializes in household goods and all sorts of small things. However, when you walk here among the rows, you will feel like in an antique shop, littered with various museum exhibits. It is worth coming here at least to look at all this variety: coins, dishes, watches, cameras, figurines – just not to list. It's just a paradise for lovers of old rarities. However, in order to find something, you will have to spend a lot of time, since there are a lot of departments, and the shelves are simply crowded and littered with things.
The market will also be interesting for lovers of military-style clothing and accessories. This is probably why it has a second name – the American Market. In one part of the market, they sell a lot of military-themed clothes and shoes: stripes, chevrons, baseball caps, tactical backpacks, flasks, thermos flasks. There are a lot of items with Soviet symbols, with original inscriptions "Made in the USSR".
They also sell small business items here, ranging from tape and tools, ending with parts for repairing equipment. They are unlikely to be necessary for an ordinary tourist, but it's funny to look at this variety of tools, the purpose of which nowadays not everyone can guess.
In general, we can say about this market – maybe jokingly, or maybe seriously – that, if you want, then from everything that is sold here, you can easily assemble a tank.

The American market is located in the city center, a 15-minute walk from the tourist district and Pham Ngu Lao Street at 104 Yersin, Phuong Nguyen Thai Binh (American market on the map). From other areas, a taxi ride will cost from 30,000 VND (1.14 USD) when ordering via apps. You can also get there by city buses, the fare costs from 5000 DONG, and you can use Google maps to search for bus routes. The nearest metro station is Ben Thanh, a 10-minute walk away.
