Description and is it worth a visit
If you suddenly do not know or have forgotten, then we remind you that the resort area of Mui Ne stretches along the coast, and the fishing village of Mui Ne itself is a different place. The village is more natural and non-touristic, and that's what makes it interesting. We will not say that it is one of the must-see places to visit during your holidays in Phan Thiet and Mui Ne, but if you have already seen everything from the top attractions and want something exotic or unusual, then come here.
There is a local market in the village, which in itself is worth a visit, but along with a walk around the village is simply a must-visit. At the market you can buy inexpensive exotic fruits, and the prices here may be twice as low as those that you will be offered on the main street of the resort. Also on the market and next to it there are a couple of jewelry stores with a traditionally very high exchange rate, dollars are bought here at a rate higher than the official exchange rate. You can visit the Linh Long Buddhist temple and the Catholic temple, both dedicated and protected, of course, fishermen and sailors.
But the most interesting thing here, in our opinion, is the atmosphere of a traditional fishing village in Vietnam. After all, even though there is such a popular resort area near the village, you will not feel it while walking around the village. Here, caught fish are dried on narrow streets, there are mountains of fishing gear lying on the shore, the water area is packed with fishing boats, and rats run through the streets in broad daylight.
Another highlight of Mui Ne village is cockfighting. Although they are banned, the locals are very fond of it. If you are lucky, you can also watch them, and if you wish, even participate in bets. Fights are held in specially equipped "arenas", one of them is located next to the PV Oil gas station on the shore at the end of Nguyen Minh Chau Street, just do not confuse it with the gas station next to the market. There is no schedule of fights, they are held when local residents and owners of fighting cocks want it, so getting to them is a matter of luck.
🕐 Working hours
Around the clock, it is better to visit during the day. The local market is open from early morning until dark (this is about 18 hours), and the evening food court, on the contrary, starts working with the arrival of darkness until about 22:00 hours.
💵Entrance fee / ticket price
Free of charge.
🚶 How to get there
The village of Mui Ne is located to the east of the resort area, the main street leads to it (village on the map). If you are staying in the eastern part of the resort area near the village, then you can walk here. You can get from other places of the resort by taxi (ordering via Grab or Maxim from 40 000 VND), by rented transport or by local bus No. 1. This bus runs along the main road through the entire resort area, runs every 20-30 minutes, the fare costs from 8,000 to 20,000 DONG depending on the distance. However, note that he does not go in the evening. Learn more about transport in Muine, buses and how to get around here.
