Description and is it worth a visit
Ngoc Cat Buddhist Monastery (Ngoc Cat Monastic, Tinh Xa Ngoc Cat, Chia Sos or Kok Pagoda) is a little–known religious place in Phan Thiet. It can be included in the list of attractions only if everyone has already seen it. The only thing it can be interesting for is its location on a hill overlooking the city of Phan Thiet.
The Buddhist temple originally appeared on this hill in 1957, and later in 1971 a stupa was built here in memory of the founder of the temple and storing his relics. The main buildings of the future monastery were erected in the next few years. For a long time the complex was without an abbot, until 1989, which led to its desolation. Currently, there are 20 monks in the monastery, and lay Buddhists periodically come to worship services.
When visiting, it should be borne in mind that the gates of the temple during the daytime can be closed with a latch. However, this does not prevent you from entering the territory and inspecting the monastery complex, you just need to open the latch on the other side.

🚶 How to get there
The temple is located in the center of Phan Thiet, but it is very difficult to find it (temple on the map). I'll have to wander through the narrow streets. Organic Maps and other similar maps in this area do not show all the streets, so it's better to use Google maps. But not everyone "knows" Google maps here either, and they can lead you to a dead end, so you may have to seek help from local residents to find the temple.
Friends, we remind you that it is much more interesting to get acquainted with the sights of Mui Ne with the help of excursions, and therefore we advise you to look at options with online booking and reviews on these excursion aggregators:
