The cheapest way to get to Hanoi Airport

You can get from Hanoi Airport to the tourist center of the capital to the Lake of the Returned Sword in just 15,000 VND by bus number 17.

There are some old, but quite good buses along the route, which can be used even with a lot of luggage. Of course, there is no luggage compartment in the bus, so you can simply put backpacks and suitcases on the platform in the middle of the bus opposite the middle door. There are usually no problems with this, since the buses are almost empty. At least from our own experience (we have used it several times in different years) we have never seen this bus crowded, rather the opposite.

• Working hours: from the center of Hanoi from 05:00 to 20:30; from the airport from 05:10 to 22:00
• Departure frequency: every 10-15 minutes
• Travel time: almost an hour, sometimes even more due to traffic jams.

Where are the stops

• Bus stop No. 17 in the center of Hanoi

  In the center of Hanoi, next to the tourist area by the lake of the Returned Sword, there is only one stop – the terminal station Long Bien. Just do not confuse it with the Ga Long Bien railway station, although they are located nearby.

  The terminal station of Long Bien is located here on the map. You can walk to it from the tourist area with a light backpack, or you can order a taxi through the Grab, Xanh Sm, Maxim applications, a trip from/to the hotel within this area should cost in 30 000 – 50 000 dongov (from 1.14 USD).

  If you are leaving this bus station, then you need to find a specific stop (there are 10 of them there). It is easy to find the right stop by the route numbers above each stop.

• Bus stop No. 17 at the airport

  The final stop is located next to the domestic flights terminal T1 (stop #17 at the airport on the map). When you leave the terminal, you need to walk 150 meters to the right along the sidewalk, and you will get to several stops at once, one of them will be for No. 17. Usually there buses are already waiting for passengers to board.

  This bus does not stop near the international terminal. Since the distance between domestic T1 and international terminal T2 is just over a kilometer, you can use the free shuttle bus between the terminals. It runs constantly and around the clock with an interval of about 30 minutes.
