Hop-on-Hop-off is such a system of tourist buses, when you buy a ticket that is valid for some time (from several hours to several days), and on this ticket you move freely on special double-decker buses, getting off and boarding at designated stops that are located near attractions. The route is designed in such a way that interesting places from the stops can be easily reached on foot.
Hanoi is served by a Hop-on-Hop-off tourist bus, here called Hanoi City Tour. On it you can quickly see the most important attractions of Hanoi, although it is worth noting that the ticket price is too high, and in fact combining walking trips and ordering a taxi on the counter you can get acquainted with the same attractions even cheaper. True, Hanoi Hop-on-Hop-off has one advantage – an audio guide in several languages, including Russian. In addition, there is a special route – night Hanoi.
The Hanoi Hop-on-Hop-off route includes 13 stops in and around the old district (the tourist center of the city). From some stops you can see several attractions at once. The route map is provided when buying a ticket and is presented in the bus itself and at the stops. In advance, it can be found on the site https://hopon-hopoff.vn/tours/hanoi-city-tour. On board there is Wi-Fi, free water, raincoat, traditional conical hat. As a rule, these buses run almost empty.
Buses run 7 days a week 365 days a year from 9 o'clock to 17 with an interval of 30 minutes, and additionally evening tours are organized at 19:00 and 20:15. The last two flights take place already in the dark (in Hanoi it gets dark at 6 pm) and do not provide stops.
Tickets can be purchased online at https://hopon-hopoff.vn/tours/hanoi-city-tour, at travel agencies and point of sale on the street near Hanoi Opera House. Ticket prices:
- 4 hours - 300 000 VND (see currency of Vietnam, approximately 11.4 USD)
- 24 hours-450 000 (approximately 17.1 USD)
- 48 hours-650,000 VND (approximately 24.69 USD)
- Night Tour-250 000 VND (approximately 9.5 USD)
If you decide to take this bus, we strongly recommend that you purchase a ticket for 24 or 48 hours. The fact is that if you buy a 4-hour ticket, you really will not have time to see almost anything and sights. During this time, taking into account the need to get on foot from the stop to the attraction, its inspection and waiting, it will hardly be possible to visit more than 3 stops out of 13.
