Temple Bach Ma (Bach Ma Temple, also White Horse Temple) at first glance is not noticeable, and you may not even notice it. Meanwhile, the temple of Bat MA in Hanoi is the oldest temple in the city. As the story goes, the temple was founded in the spring of 1010 by Emperor Ly Thai to in honor of the white horse that led him to this place.
During its existence, the temple was repeatedly subjected to floods and other natural disasters, and greatly dilapidated. Therefore, in the 18th century it was seriously rebuilt, and almost nothing remains of the old buildings. Inside the temple you will see a conditional statue of the same Imperial white horse.
What is good, you can visit this temple for free, and you will not have to get to it from the Old Quarter (tourist area), since it is located right in it.

The temple is located in the northern part of the tourist area, and you can reach it on foot (Temple of Bat Ma On the map of Hanoi). Address 76 Hang Buam Street. Finding a temple in the intricacies of the streets of a tourist area is not easy, so write down the name and address on a piece of paper.
