Description and is it worth a visit
Since April 26, 2024, the palace is closed to the public. The opening time is not known.
Bao Dai Palace 1 (Dinh I, Bao Dai Palace 1, King Palace I) is one of the three residences of the last Emperor Bao Dai in Dalat. The place is popular and visited by tourists, both independently and with an excursion from Dalat or Nha Trang, Mui Ne. The house was used as a working office in the period from 1949 to 1954.
The building with features of European and Asian architecture consists of two floors surrounded by a well-maintained park. The situation inside the palace is modest, you wouldn't even think at once that the emperor lived here. All objects and furnishings are preserved in their original form. In addition to the work area, there is also a recreation area. In the courtyard there is a small exhibition of vintage cars and a horse-drawn carriage. There is a play area and a cafe.
If you have little time planned in Dalat and you are choosing which of the three palaces to choose, we recommend you to visit Bao Dai Palace 3.
