Description and is it worth a visit
Along the perimeter of Catba Island and on the shallow lakes grow amazing mangroves-plants that grow in salty sea water. You may not see anything special in them, but for some peoples they are special plants. Since ancient times, they have been used for the production of commercial wood, fuel, the manufacture of dyes and in the leather industry. It is also a very interesting plant in terms of its biological properties.
Therefore, if you have never seen mangrove forests with your own eyes, it is worth looking at them on the Cat Ba island. You can do this yourself by going hiking or by transport to the north of the island, where there are quite a lot of them in shallow bays and lakes. And you won't even have to go by boat as they are right off the coast along the roads. They can also be seen during sea excursions around the perimeter of the island or on a rented kayak.

🚶 How to get there: mangroves are located around the perimeter of the island, mainly in the North. The most accessible place is the Bay on the way to the pier on the island of Tun Chau (Dao Tuan Chau). You can get there only by taxi or rented transport. Here you can stop near the road and go straight down to the water (mangroves on the map). You can ask fishermen for a reasonable fee to ride you around the Bay on a rowing boat.
