Description and is it worth a visit
Japanese Peace Pagoda is one of the 80 pagodas around the world built by the Japanese as a gift to different countries and cities in 2005. To be more precise, the pagoda was donated not by the government or the people of Japan, but by monks of Japanese origin from one of the branches of Buddhism - Mahayana (Mahayana). In total there are four such pagodas in Sri Lanka.
The pagoda is on a mountain and can be seen from afar. Looks especially impressive from the outside Unawatuna, as if she grew out of the jungle. The pagoda can be climbed and walked around. From above, by the way, there is a good panoramic view of the surroundings, if you go around it in a circle. You can even see Galle and its Fort. Next to the pagoda there is a small temple, where access is open to all comers.
