Description and is it worth a visit
Unawatuna Jungle Beach is not only a tourist attraction, but also a great place to relax. This is a small beach hidden in the Jungle a couple of kilometers from the tourist center Unawatuna. Unfortunately, today it can no longer be said that this is a secret and little-known deserted beach, but once it was. Now, in good weather, quite a lot of tourists flock here, and the path to the beach through the Jungle is never overgrown.
Jungle beach consists of two small beaches with a length of 50 and 100 meters, and the one that is smaller is the most filled with vacationers. From the larger beach it is separated by 100 meters of rocky area, which is easy to overcome, so if you want to be in a more secluded place, then we advise you to walk these 100 meters, but in no case not by swimming, but by the shore.
There is almost no infrastructure, although a cafe and sun beds for rent have now appeared on the small beach, there is even a shower and toilet. There are no traditional water beach activities such as bananas and jet skis. Boats with tourists from the main beach of Unawatuna constantly arrive here, so it is rarely quiet here. One of the entertainment is snorkeling, which is considered the best in the resort. The bay with the beach is well protected by a coral reef from waves, so you can swim with a mask and tube even at the very shore. It is better to take your own mask, but you can also rent from 600 rupees (1.79 USD, see currency of Sri Lanka and its exchange rate) a set of Maxi and tube, or a set with fins and a vest from 2200 rupees (6.58 rent masks is in a local cafe, but it is better to rent in the center of the village in one of the dive shops, there is Cheaper.

🚶 How to get there
Jungle Beach is about one and a half kilometers or 25 minutes walk from the center of Unawatuna through the jungle on a simple trail (Jungle Beach on the map). Wooden signs to it from the center of the village begin at the Welle dewalaya - Yaddehimulla road fork. You can get here by motorcycle or car in a detour through Marata Road and Rumassala road, but you have to drive 4 kilometers. A steep descent leads to the beach itself, so the transport will have to be left unattended at the top, or in the parking lot for 100 rupees (0.3 USD, see Sri Lanka currency and current exchange rate). It can also be reached by boat from the main beach.
