Colombo Museum of Natural History (National Museum of Natural History) is part of National Museum Colombo and is located in a detached building behind the National Museum building. It has existed since September 23, 1986. Its creation was aimed at reflecting all stages of the natural heritage Sri Lankaas fully and qualitatively as possible. The exposition of the museum is a little in a neglected state and is divided into several sectors: Zoology, entomology, biology, geology, in which numerous specimens of birds, reptiles, insects, mammals, fish that lived in Sri Lanka, as well as endangered today, are exhibited. With the help of stuffed animals, the natural conditions of their existence in nature are recreated.
