How to get to Zheleznovodsk

Zheleznovodsk is located 20 kilometers from the main transport hub of the Caucasian mineral waters (KMV), the city of Mineralnye Vody, where the airport and the railway station of long-distance trains are located. By plane

How to get from Mineralnye Vody airport to Zheleznovodsk

The airport is located 20 kilometers from the tourist area of Zheleznovodsk (Mineralnye Vody airport on the map). You can get there by taxi or by bus in Mineralnye Vody. There are no direct buses.

The most convenient way to get there is by taxi. So you will save a lot of time, besides you will get right to the door of the hotel. But it is more profitable to use not taxis at a fixed price, which are offered at the exit from the airport, but ordering cars through the Yandex.Taxi or Uber applications. In this case, the trip will cost about 350 rubles, in time 20-30 minutes.

Also, as an option, you can arrange a tourist transfer from Kiwitaxi or another company in advance of the trip. It costs more than an economy taxi through the app, but the level of Service is higher. However, at the station you can get a schedule and buy tickets for trains departing from Mineralnye Vody.

Therefore, to get to Zheleznovodsk by long-distance train, you need to buy tickets to Mineralnye Vody, Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, and from there get by bus or train.

• Via Minvody

  In our opinion, the most convenient way to get to Zheleznovodsk is through the Mineralnye Vody railway station (railway station on the map). Minvod can be reached at least from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Adler, Orsk, Yekaterinburg, Novokuznetsk, Kirov, Rostov-On-Don, Baku, Grozny, Novorossiysk, Vladikavkaz, Irkutsk, Tynda and many other cities along their routes.   Upon arrival at the Minvod railway station in Zheleznovodsk, you can take a taxi (from 400 USD), or walk 500 meters to the stop "Stometrovka" on 22 Party Congress Avenue (stop on the map), from where bus # 107 departs to Zheleznovodsk every 25 minutes from 06:00 to 18:40.

• Through Pyatigorsk, Essentuki, or Kislovodsk

By train

Since September 1, 2019, after many years, passenger trains from Kislovodsk have been resumed to Zheleznovodsk station, with high-speed "Swallows" running. Electric trains depart from Kislovodsk at 9: 27 and 12:20, back from Zheleznovodsk at 12:26 and 14:26. so far they will run only on weekends and holidays, but you can check the schedulehere.

By bus

In the center of the tourist area of Zheleznovodsk on Privokzalnaya Square, 1 there is a small bus station (Zheleznovodsk bus station on the map). From here all suburban (intermuniversal) buses depart/arrive, and the only bus of long-distance destinations from Stavropol.

Long-distance intercity bus service connects Zheleznovodsk only with Stavropol (Nevinnomyssk on the way). Two flights a day depart from Stavropol at 07:10, 09:05, from Zheleznovodsk at 15:00, 15:20. On the way 3-4 hours, the cost of 450 rubles.

By car

A good E50 road leads to Zheleznovodsk through Mineralnye Vody. From Moscow and St. Petersburg to Minvody by car the fastest way to go on the toll M4, but you can go on E119 and P22, at the same time stopping on the way to Elista.

In Zheleznovodsk from the neighboring resorts and cities of the Stavropol Territory can be reached by suburban (intermuniversal) buses or taxis. From Kislovodsk, you can also get first by train to Essentuki, and there at the railway station change to bus number 117A to Zheleznovodsk.

Transport, how to move around the city

The city has a system of city and suburban buses (taxis). To move around the tourist area, you will not need them, but if you need to get to a new residential area or to neighboring resorts, they will be very useful. All city buses pass along Lenin Street, and suburban buses depart/arrive from the bus station opposite the railway station, and again go along this street, where they can also be boarded.
