By electric train
You can get to Yessentuki from resorts in Stavropol Krai by electric train. This option is better than taking buses between neighboring resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters: Pyatigorsk, Mineralnye Vody, Kislovodsk.
Electric train fares: Mineralnye Vody – Yessentuki — from 225 rubles, Pyatigorsk – Yessentuki — from 90 rubles, Kislovodsk – Yessentuki — from 110 rubles.
Furthermore, high-speed 'Lastochka' trains run four times a day between Mineralnye Vody and Kislovodsk, making only three stops along the way (in Pyatigorsk, Yessentuki, Lermontovsky), covering the route in 55 minutes instead of an hour and a half.
You can view the electric train schedule for Yessentuki station here, where you can also buy tickets for the 'Lastochka'. Tickets can also be purchased on Unitiki.ru.
By bus
You can take a direct bus to Yessentuki from at least Moscow, Elista, Tuapse, Sochi, Novorossiysk, Nalchik, Mozdok, Makhachkala, Krasnodar, Dzhubga, Derbent, Gelendzhik, Voronezh, Astrakhan, Kizlyar, Tbilisi (international), in addition to numerous routes within Stavropol Krai. Most of these are through buses to Kislovodsk, and they make a stop for passenger drop-off and pick-up at the Yessentuki bus station. Bus travel costs slightly less than the train, but is much less comfortable.
There are several bus arrival and departure points in Yessentuki. As a rule, all buses stop at all three, with rare exceptions:
- The main bus station at Gagarin St., 93 (bus station on the map). This is the old city bus station for intercity and suburban buses.

Some tourists also buy tickets directly from the drivers at the bus station departure platform, which is slightly cheaper, but we wouldn't recommend it, as there might be no free seats left, and you might have to travel sitting on bags or standing in the aisle.
