What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
It is one of the oldest and most famous breweries in Russia. It was built in 1881 by the world-famous Brewer Alfred Filippovich von Wakano, an Austrian citizen. It was here that the legendary Zhiguli beer appeared, known throughout Russia and even beyond.
Today, the plant is still operating and produces a large number of brewing products, but at the same time it is a tourist attraction. You can visit it as part of an organized tour of the old and new buildings, get acquainted with the production process, and, of course, conduct a tasting of products and buy fresh beer in the company store. The tour is subject to an age limit of 18+.
If for some reason you can not get on a tour of the plant, you can limit yourself to tasting beer in the legendary historical bar "bottom of the bottom", working at the plant. The bar is located in the same building as the plant, the entrance is from Volzhsky Prospekt Street. And a few meters from the entrance to the bar, the freshest Zhiguli draft beer is sold from the window.
