What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting

Not all guests of the city know that Samara has been one of the main centers of rocket engineering in the country since Soviet times. At the Samara progress plant, many types of ballistic missiles and launch vehicles, rocket engines and rocket elements were manufactured and are being manufactured. The Vostok launch vehicle, on which Yuri Gagarin flew into space, was made here. Therefore, the Samara Space Museum is one of the places that tourists should definitely visit.

The museum consists of three floors, each of which has its own exhibition. On the first floor there is the main exposition - "Samara cosmic", which should be visited without fail. The second and third floors with expositions "waiting for space" and "wings of the future" are paid additionally.

Objectively, it should be said that the premises and collection of each of the expositions are not very large, there are not many exhibits, and they are not very spectacular. But there is a section with informational interactive exhibits that make the visit more interesting and informative. It is best to explore the museum accompanied by a guide or with an audio guide (offered at the box office). But even if you do not dare to visit the museum, you should at least come here and take a free photo against the background of a real Soyuz rocket, which adorns the facade of the museum building.
