General information
Sunny Valley and coastal - two villages on the Black Sea coast in the southeastern part of Crimea, between Zander and the village of Kurortnoye (Sunny Valley and coastal on the map of Crimea. Both villages are part of the Sudak urban district, and are sometimes considered as its suburbs. This coastal village should not be confused with another one located in the Saki district in the west of the peninsula.
Sunny Valley is a larger settlement with shops, it even has hotels and a modest tourist infrastructure. But it is located three kilometers from the shore and the beach. Pribrezhnoe, on the contrary, has almost no infrastructure, but is located on the shore.
This place is considered an ecologically clean territory of the Crimea, touristically poorly developed and little popular. In addition to beautiful landscapes, sunny weather and clean sea, Sunny Valley is known as one of the oldest wine-growing places in Crimea. Here is the winery "Sunny Valley", which produces a unique therapeutic red wine "Black doctor" from the local grape variety, which does not grow anywhere else. Be sure to try this wine if the opportunity presents itself. However, keep in mind that it is not the cheapest: one bottle costs 1500 rubles, and a gift bottle is generally more than 2000 rubles.
Holidays in Sunny Valley and coastal
The biggest advantage of the resort is its sparseness, because there are few tourists here even at the height of the season. Go on vacation here mainly those who are willing to endure inconvenience in return for peace and quiet. Therefore, most of the vacationers here are independent tourists with tents and road travelers, accustomed to spartan conditions. You can, of course, stay in one of the few private mini-hotels in the village or with private traders, but in this case you will find yourself in a real rural wilderness, and even far from the beach, since the nearest residential area is about one and a half kilometers away, and the village of Sunny Valley is generally three kilometers away. But reconciled with the almost complete lack of amenities and infrastructure, vacationers will get beautiful landscapes, a magnificent long sandy and Pebble Beach, Clean Air and clear water. The beach here can really be attributed to one of the best in the Crimea.
But there are also plenty of minuses for recreation in the coastal. There is no entertainment here. When you get tired of lying on the beach, you can go for a walk in the center of the Sunny Valley, where there is the ancient Church of St. Elijah and a mosque. You can also go hiking to Cape Meganom or climb the paths in the surrounding mountains, you can get all the way to Lisya Bay and Kurortnoye Village (on the way to them on the shore you can watch an abandoned movie Town and hike along Mount Echki-Doug). In the center of the Sunny Valley there is a company wine store, and literally close to the beach there are workshops, and again the company store of the winery "Sunny Valley". And that's it. Even excursions can not be purchased here, there is simply nowhere. The nearest Entertainments and attractions are in Sudak, where you can get by bus, but there are inconveniences: buses run rarely, and usually crowded. Therefore, without your transport, only the most phlegmatic tourist will not howl from boredom in the Sunny Valley and coastal. From the infrastructure there are only a few cafes that work at the peak of the season, so if you come here at the beginning or end of the tourist season (June and September), there will be nowhere to eat. Several small shops are located in the center of the Sunny Valley, where you can walk from the beach for at least 30 minutes.
Well, it is impossible not to say about one more significant drawback. In the coastal area, a considerable territory of the village is occupied by a military unit, including the almost kilometer-long beach line closed to the public by the military. Walking along the beach you just rest against a rusty fence with warning signs. The barbed wire passing along the fence of the military unit, the terrible fence of the winery adjacent to the beach, the askew and dilapidated (apparently just abandoned) buildings of cafes, shops and still it is not clear what buildings, apparently left from the old times, when there were a lot of vacationers here, do not add to the picturesqueness of the beach.
Hotels where to stay
With accommodation in Sunny Valley and Pribrezhnoe big problems for those who want to get from the holiday service and comfort. There are no normal hotels here, there are only private mini-hotels with a very budget level of Service. Moreover, they are far from the beach. The same is with the private housing stock: houses and rooms are rented here, but are far from the beach. Therefore, rest in the coastal – mainly the lot of motorists and lovers of rest in tents. In coastal previously operated several high-comfort camping with toilet, water, electricity and even houses. But at the beginning of the 2016 season, the campsites were abandoned, whether they were resuscitated later, we have no information. Right next to the beach there are also places where you can safely park a car and set up a tent, but there is no toilet and no water.
Weather and tourist seasons in Sunny Valley
It is said that Sunny Valley got its name because it has the highest number of sunny days in the year. The tourist season here falls on July-September. The first tourists appear here in May, although the water is still too cold for swimming, but the sun is enough for sunbathing. But keep in mind that at the beginning and at the end of the season (June and September), the infrastructure here is almost absent, it starts working only in high season.
