Overview of methods and routes
Sevastopol can be reached by long-distance trains from cities and regions of Russia, as well as by trains from the cities of the peninsula. However, direct railway communication is limited only to flights from Moscow, St. Petersburg and cities along their route. Also in high season there are several flights from Murmansk, but they rarely go.

- From Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities on the way by direct trains to the railway station in Sevastopol. Further from the station to the place of rest can be reached by city buses from 26 rubles, or by taxi from 150 rubles.
- From cities and regions of the Russian Federation with a transfer in Simferopol. You can get from Simferopol railway station to Sevastopol in 1-2 hours by bus (from 300 USD), train (from 128 USD), taxi (from 1200 USD).
- From Crimea by train. There are flights from Yevpatoria and Simferopol via Saki, Bachkhisarai and other settlements along the way. From other cities and resorts of the Crimea to go with a transfer in these cities.

From Moscow and St. Petersburg to Sevastopol by train
From Moscow and St. Petersburg to Sevastopol can be reached by direct branded trains. Also, these trains can be boarded at stops in cities along the route: Ryazan, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and in other small towns and stops.
Since the peninsula is under sanctions, transportation by long-distance trains is carried out not by Russian Railways, but by specially created branded carriers. Therefore, tickets should be purchased not on the official website of Russian Railways, but on tutu.ru or on the company carrier's website Grand Service Express. And here is the current schedule:

From other Russian cities
Even if there are no trains from your city to Sevastopol, you can easily get here through Simferopol, where the main railway station of Crimea is located. There are many direct flights to Simferopol from almost all regions of Russia, however, most of them are only in the summer.
Tickets to Simferopol should also be searched and purchased not on the Russian Railways website, but on tutu.ru or directly on the company carrier's website Grand Service Express.
Then from Simferopol you will have to get to Sevastopol on your own, which, however, will not be difficult even for inexperienced tourists, and in time it will take 2-3 hours:

You will not be able to order a car through the Yandex.Go, Uber and other similar aggregators application here, since they are blocked due to sanctions. However, it will not be difficult to find a car on the spot upon arrival in the parking lot near the station, where drivers of official taxis and private "bombers" are always on duty. Unfortunately, they usually call the price too high, and they can easily request more than 3,000 rubles in one direction, and therefore you need to bargain with them.

Buses to Sevastopol depart from the bus station "Kurortnaya", it is also "Simferopol AC-2", which is located just a couple of minutes walk from the railway station. Direct buses starting from 300 rubles depart from it every 15-30 minutes during the day, and it takes almost two hours to drive. The price of tickets is very different depending on the class of bus: commuter is cheaper, and long-distance is twice as high. So clarify this question immediately at the ticket office, otherwise a bus ride will cost you like a taxi. You can buy tickets in advance at bus.tutu.ru.
When buying, keep in mind that buses to Sevastopol can arrive at one of several bus stations: the main bus station in the center (bus station on the map), Northern bus station on the other side of Simferopol Bay (Severnaya bus station on the map) or to Inkerman station. Inkerman station is located far from the center and all tourist areas, and therefore it is better not to take tickets to it. It is worth going to the main bus station if your hotel or accommodation will be in the center. The northern bus station is suitable for leaving it for the northern beaches and areas of Uchkuyevka, Lyubimovka, Orlovka, Kacha, etc.
By train from the cities of Crimea
You can get to Sevastopol by train from Simferopol, Bakhchisarai, Saki, Yevpatoria and other small towns along the route of these trains. There are slow trains with many stops at small stations, and fast trains with stops only at large city stations. The fare costs 128 rubles from Simferopol and 256 on the farthest route from Yevpatoria. From other cities of the Crimea, you should go with a transfer through these stations.

How to get from Sevastopol railway station to a place of rest
The railway station in Sevastopol is located almost in the very center of the city at 1 Vokzalnaya Street (railway station on the map). From here, some hotels can be reached even on foot, and directly to the center by taxi from 200 rubles, or by public transport for 26 rubles.
If you come to Sevastopol for a beach holiday, then your hotel will most likely be located not in the center, but on one of the beaches, most often these are the beaches of Uchkuyevka, Lyubimovka, Orlovka or Kacha, which are located on the north side of Sevastopol Bay. To get there by public transport, you first need to get to the center to Grafskaya pier, from there by ferry for 30 rubles to cross to the other side, and there you can again take a city bus or commuter flights at the Severnaya bus station.
