Memorial to the Eltigen landing "Eltigen – Tierra del Fuego" or memorial complex "Sail" is a memorial in the form of a sail dedicated to the period of the Great Patriotic War. It is located on the hill of the Geroyevskoye (Geroyevka) microdistrict, the former village of Eltingen, and is visible from almost everywhere. It was installed in memory of the heroic defense of the Kerch-Eltigen landing force, which held the bridgehead for 36 days under blockade under continuous enemy fire.
The memorial was opened on May 8, 1985 and to this day is a symbol of the courage and heroism of the paratrooper soldiers who stood on this line, as well as medics, pilots, sailors and penalty takers. The names of the Heroes of the Soviet Union appear on the bas-reliefs.
The observation deck offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.

🚶 How to get there
The memorial is located in one of the suburbs of Kerch in the Geroevskoye or Geroevka microdistrict on Galina Petrova Street, stop "Monument" (memorial on the map). It is best to go here by your own transport or taxi, combining the trip with a visit to the museum of the Eltigensk landing, the Nymphey settlementand the ancient city of Tiritaka. You can also get here by city buses, but you will have to make 2-3 transfers from the center. You can use Yandex maps to plan your bus route.
