Tourist information about the village of Katsiveli in the Crimea

Katsiveli Village it is located on the southern coast of Crimea, 23 kilometers from Yalta. Nearby are the resorts of Simeiz and the village of Ponizovka (Katsiveli on the map of Crimea).

Katsiveli is a very small village with a permanent population of only a little more than 500 people, almost entirely exists due to tourism. But rest here is not for everyone. Staying here, you will find yourself in a country house by the sea, and nothing more. This is the situation here: as in the village or in the country. There is no tourist walking area, poorly developed infrastructure, no entertainment and attractions. The main advantages of a holiday in Katsiveli are deserted beaches, clean water and air, good weather, distance from the bustle and noise of popular resorts, as well as low housing prices. Rest here is suitable for those who need only the sea, and nothing else, for example, for families with children and young children. But keep in mind that the village has its drawbacks, which may not meet your expectations about the rest, but about everything in order.

Katsiveli Beaches

There are several beaches, and the main advantage of Katsiveli is their sparseness. Even at the height of the season, there are very few people here, and at the beginning of the season (June) or at the end (September), the beaches in general can be completely empty. Accordingly, there are no amenities and entertainment. Towels, water, food, and entertainment will have to be organized independently. All beaches are pebbly, pebbles are large. Under the water and on the shore there are large boulders. The water is very clean. Another problem with beaches is their inaccessibility.

If you stay in the eastern part of the village, closer to Simeiz and the water park, you can relax on the beach Blue Bay under the radio telescope (See Beach on map). It is a very nice and beautiful beach, it is easy to reach and it has beautiful views of the mountains. But every year more and more tourists from Simeiz come here, and even come from Yalta for a day, so it is possible that in high season it will again be filled with vacationers.

Other beaches of Kativeli are located in the western part of the village (the side further from Simeiz, cm. on the map), and stretch all the way to the bottom. It is very difficult to call them beautiful and cozy, since along them stretches a dilapidated concrete embankment of the Soviet period, which requires major reconstruction: here and there lie torn pieces of concrete, reinforcement, rusty metal. The entire coastline is divided into sections by "terrible" concrete fortifications (bunami). But the worst thing is that access to this beach is difficult. From residential buildings where tourists are accommodated and hotels, it is separated by the territory of an abandoned boarding house, which now belongs to the FSB. Theoretically, you can go to the beach, it is not closed, but the road to it from the center (from the bus stop) is closed, you have to go around, giving a big detour past dilapidated and unfinished sanatoriums (about 800 meters). In the 2017 season, only families with children and disabled people were allowed on this road to the beach through the boarding house. And yet, the center of the village is above sea level, so you have to go down to this beach at a great slope, and climb back up.

Attractions and attractions in Katsiveli

There are no entertainment and attractions in Katsiveli. Nearby in Simeiz is a good water park "Blue Bay" (site simeiz-aquapark.ru). Cost of visit:

Infrastructure in Katsiveli

As for the infrastructure, it is very poorly developed, even the most basic. There are literally a couple of cafes, and the prices can not be called budget. There is a shop, a mini-market, but all prices are also higher than in other cities. There is a problem with the purchase of meat in the season (it either does not happen, or the prices are very high). There is no pharmacy and no sale of essential goods. If desired, you can get on foot or by car to Simeiz (4 kilometers), and so buy everything you need, or go to Yalta for shopping (50 rubles by bus, 40 minutes on the way). There is a problem with the purchase of sightseeing tours in the Crimea. They are theoretically sold here, but only shipped when a group is recruited. Therefore, a more reliable option is to buy a tour in Simeiz and go on excursions from there.

Hotels and accommodation in Katsiveli, where to stay

As for accommodation, there are literally a couple of hotels and guest houses, mostly tourists are accommodated in the private sector. Prices here are low even by the standards of the Crimea, but you need to be able to bargain and choose the most profitable options. For example, a whole country house for a family can be rented from 2000 rubles per day. It is the whole houses or country floors for families that are easiest and most profitable to rent here, while accommodation for one or two people is better to look for in hotels or guest houses.

How to get to Katsiveli

You can get to Katsiveli only by commuter buses from Yalta (how to get to Yalta – here). From the bus station of Yalta, bus No. 107 departs every 30 minutes, costs 50 rubles, about 40 minutes on the way. He goes to the water park "Blue Bay", but before that stops in the center of the village. From the bus stop to any place in Katsiveli can be reached on foot.

Another option is to first drive to the center of Simeiz, which can be done, including directly from the airport (see how to get to Simeiz), and from there to the desired place in Katsiveli on foot (4 kilometers).

You can also take any bus going along the South Coast Highway (this is the main route between Alushta, Yalta, Sevastopol) to the stop Katsiveli. Further from this stop one and a half kilometers to the center on foot.
