Blue Bay (Goluboi Zaliv) - a small urban-type settlement on the southern coast of Crimea, 22 kilometers from Yalta, is part of Greater Yalta (Blue Bay on the map of Crimea. The village is very tiny, its population is about 600 people. It is located near the village of Simeiz, so it is often perceived as part of Simeiza. It is separated from Simeiz by Mount Koshka and the South Coast Highway.
Blue Bay is a very quiet place. Its main advantage is the Blue Bay Beach (although in fact its belonging to the village is controversial, rather it refers more to Simeiz). It is really located in a cozy Bay, and is considered one of the best in the Simeiz area. The length of the beach is a little less than a kilometer. But for comfortable swimming and recreation, only a section of about 250 meters long is suitable, which is located next to the radio telescope, it is called the beach under the radio telescope. This is an undeveloped beach without amenities and entertainments, but tourists from Simeiz come here for a day to sunbathe and swim when there are too many vacationers on the beaches there, as well as vacationers staying in Katsiveli. The rest of the beach is suitable for sunbathing or seclusion, but not for swimming, as there are too large boulders.
There is almost nothing tourist in the village, except for a few hotels, car camping, and a couple of cafes along the beach. For shopping, entertainment, buying excursions, you will have to get to Simeiz every time. Near the beach there is a water park "Blue Bay". Nearby is the rock "wing of the Swan", a favorite place for training climbers.
You can stay in the Blue Bay in one of several hotels or in the residential sector. Prices for accommodation here are lower than in Simeiz. But keep in mind that the residential area of the village is on the other side of the South Coast Highway, a few kilometers from the beach, so staying there is not an option. Choose accommodation from the beach, and then you can easily get to the beach and to Simeiz on foot.
Also on the shore in the summer from June 1, there is a well-equipped AutoCamp. It has electricity, water, showers and toilet. You can stay in it from 250 rubles with a tent, and 250 rubles for parking a car.
When searching for hotels in Crimea on Booking.com you will most likely receive a message- "no options found". This is a limitation booking.com because of the sanctions. How to get to Blue Bay
You can only get to the Blue Bay by commuter buses from Yalta (how to get to Yalta – here). From the bus station of Yalta, bus No. 107 departs every 30 minutes, costs 50 rubles, about 40 minutes on the way. This bus goes to the water park. Another option is to get to the center of Simeiz, which you can do, including directly from the airport (see how to get to Simeiz), and from there to the right place on the beach in the Blue Bay to get a taxi, or walk, but you have to overcome 3 kilometers.
Well, another option is to get on any bus going along the South Coast Highway (this is the main route between Alushta, Yalta, Sevastopol) to the stop Ponomarevka. From this stop to the beach you can go down the asphalt road on foot (3 kilometers), or go the other way from the South Coast Highway to the village itself.
A much more convenient way to get to the Blue Bay from the airport or other places in the Crimea is to order a tourist transfer. This is an analogue of a taxi on order. The driver will meet you at the airport after the plane lands with a sign, and you do not have to look for a taxi driver and negotiate a price, the cost is fixed at the time of booking.
