The Church of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious or the Greek Church of St. George is one of the medieval Orthodox churches located in Feodosia near the walls of the Genoese fortress of Kafa. It is included in the complex of religious buildings of the citadel, along with the temple of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God and the Church of St. John the Theologian, located nearby.
It was founded in the XIV century as part of the monastery. There are some disputes about belonging to the Greek or Armenian church, both of which take place, we will not assert. Until recently, the temple was closed for reconstruction and it was possible to get into it only as part of an excursion. But now services are sometimes held here, and if you're lucky, you can go in and inspect it from the inside. Inside there is a model of the Kafa fortress itself and the main temples.

🚶 How to get there
The Church of St. George the Victorious is located on the territory of the Genoese fortress of Feodosia, the exact address is 35 Korabelnaya Street (temple on the map). If you are in your car, you can drive directly to the fortress and the temple. By public transport, you can get there for 30 rubles by city buses No. 1, 1a, 1b, 2a, 14 and 15 to the final stop "City Hospital", and then go to inspect the fortress and walk to the temple on foot. You can walk here from the center and completely on foot, but from Galeriynaya Street you will have to walk almost 3 kilometers.
