Shepsi - a village and beach resort on the Black Sea coast in Tuapse District, 13 kilometers from Tuapse (Shepsi on the map). This is the last settlement and resort of the area before Greater Sochi, the border of which begins just a couple of kilometers from here. Administratively, Shepsi belongs to the Tuapse district and is often considered as a remote area or beach of Tuapse, although in fact it is an independent place of rest.

Shepsi is a small quiet beach resort with almost no entertainment and no attractions at all. The main entertainment here are the beaches and the sea, so a holiday in Shepsi will suit you if, in addition to them on vacation, you mostly do not need anything. By the way, therefore, residents of large cities of the Krasnodar Territory like to visit the village on weekly weekends, and also come from Rostov-on-Don and other neighboring regions.

At the same time, the convenient location of the village near Greater Sochi and the regional center of Tuapse allows you to go for entertainment to neighboring resorts during the day, or even go to the mountains to Krasnaya Polyana and Rosa Khutor Resort. Moreover, this can be done on suburban trains, including high-speed trains "Lastochka", bypassing all the traffic jams that gather on the winding highway along the coast.

The beach in Shepsi is long, the coast stretches continuously in both directions from the resort for many kilometers. On foot from here you can even walk along the coast or rails to Dederkoy or the first resort of Greater Sochi-Magri.

In the place of the main exit to the shore from the village is the most developed central part of the beach with sun loungers for rent (200 rubles/day) and modest beach entertainment. There is an inflatable water slide, sometimes there is a trampoline and offers banana riding, catamaran rental, but the availability of these Entertainment is not guaranteed.

Here the river Shepsi flows into the sea and brings muddy water, especially after rains. And the beach in the center with very large pebbles. But if you want, it's easy to go a little to the side and find a clean and secluded place on the beach, though away from the infrastructure. If you go in the direction of Dedercoy, then after about a kilometer and a half you will get to a nudist beach.

The infrastructure in Shepsi is not developed, but everything you need is available. The main urban infrastructure is concentrated along the highway a kilometer from the beach. There is a chain supermarket "magnet", a 24-hour grocery store, a bus stop and a couple of ATMs. For serious purchases you need to go to Tuapse or Lazarevskoye, and even better in Sochi.

The tourist area is closer to the beach. There is a market with goods for recreation, fruit and vegetable stalls, small shops with products, several cafes, excursions are sold. The main tourist street of the resort is Shkolnaya Street, along which all tourist establishments and services are located, there is a budget dining room. Another developed Sportivnaya Street is sandwiched between two rows of garages converted into housing for vacationers and shops.

There are only a few accommodations in hotels and holiday homes in Shepsi, so if you want to relax in a comfortable place and with service, it is better to search and book in advance. Most of the accommodation in Shepsi consists of private houses and garages, in which rooms or houses are entirely rented to vacationers. You can book accommodation in some of them through reservation systems, but mostly they are rented to vacationers on the "tip" of friends or already on the spot upon arrival. Also, some options can be booked through bulletin boards, but be careful, as there is a high risk of encountering unscrupulous landlords.

How to get there

The main transport hub 18 kilometers from Shepsi is the city of Tuapse, where there is a railway station and a bus station.   At Shepsi station, long-distance trains do not stop, but only electric trains stop. Therefore, you need to get here by train through the railway station Tuapse. Theoretically, you can also go to Krasnodar and change trains there to Shepsi, but there is no big point in this, you will only lose time.

  Trains to Tuapse in the summer season go from most regions of the Russian Federation, but the direction is very popular (trains to Sochi), so it is better to buy tickets in advance, at least a month before the trip.

  Upon arrival at the railway station in Tuapse, you can finally get to Shepsi by train or taxi from 600 rubles. There are a lot of trains during the day, but there are time gaps during the day, so it's better to check it in advance before the trip, for example at Yandex. schedules. • By bus to Shepsi

  Shepsi is located on the highway through which the long-distance bus to Sochi passes, but, unfortunately, not all of them make a stop here. In some cases, you can agree with the driver that he dropped you off here, but you will still have to buy a ticket to a more distant point of the official stop, and accordingly overpay for it.

  Therefore, it is easiest to go to Shepsi from other cities and regions by intercity buses through Tuapse, where there is a large bus station. It can be reached by buses from the cities of the Krasnodar Territory and neighboring regions of the Russian Federation, during the tourist season flights from Moscow and other distant regions are launched. It is best to check the schedule for long-distance destinations at bus stations and travel agencies in your city, or you can view them on the Websites rasp.yandex.ru and bus.tutu.ru, but not all flights are represented.   When you arrive at the bus station, you need to transfer to a suburban bus (costs 42 rubles, 20-30 minutes on the way, departure every hour) or a taxi from 600 rubles. The bus does not enter the tourist part of the village, but makes a stop on the main highway (Shepsi stop on the map).

• By car in Shepsi

  The last 200 kilometers of the way after Krasnodar can be done on one of two routes. To decide which one to choose, we recommend that you monitor the state of traffic in Yandex. Navigator:

  • Through Dzhubga. An excellent highway with a speed limit of 110 km/h leads to Dzhubga, but after Dzhubga serpentines and resort villages begin, the passage through which is very difficult, especially during the tourist season in the daytime. Even without an accident due to pedestrian crossings and narrowing of roads in the villages, you can get into many hours of traffic jams, and if an accident occurs with a lane lock, then a four-hour trip can easily turn into an eight-hour one.
  • Through Shahumyan pass. An alternative route leads through Khadyzhensk and the Shahumyan pass (Shahumyansky), and allows you to avoid traffic jams on the Dzhubga-Tuapse section. The road here is narrow, but rarely congested. But the problem is that six kilometers of the pass will have to drive along a rocky dirt serpentine road with a minimum speed. This section is very dusty, trucks on it move very slowly, overtaking is difficult and prohibited, so for these six kilometers you will have to spend 30-60 minutes.

Transport

Shepsi is a small village, and to get from anywhere to the beach or to the hotel from the bus stop – transport is not needed, everything is available on foot. Actually, there is no transport in Shepsi, not even a taxi. Only sometimes near the bus stop in the center you can find taxi drivers on duty by the road "bombed", but this is rather an exception.

But to move to the neighboring resorts and beaches of the Tuapse district and in Greater Sochi, you can use suburban transport. For trips in the direction of Tuapse, you can use trains and suburban buses, but in the direction of Sochi, we recommend using only trains, because it is much faster than riding a bus or car along serpentines. Even if you have a personal car, we advise you to go by train.

• Commuter bus

  Bus number 164 runs between Shepsi and Tuapse bus station in the daytime from 07:00 to 19:00 approximately every hour. Travel costs 42 rubles, 20-40 minutes on the way, depending on traffic jams. If you need to go further along the Tuapse district, you will have to change to other buses in the direction of Dzhubga.

• Trains

  By regular trains and high-speed "Swallows" during the day you can get to Tuapse, Krasnodar, Rostov-On-Don and the resorts of Sochi up to the mountain Rosa Khutor. On the route there are two carriers Kuban Express-prigorod and Russian Railways/FPC. Buying tickets at the station is impossible, so just get on the train and pay the fare to the conductors who go through the cars. Payment is made in cash or by card, the cost depends on the distance, for which you need to name the destination station.

Attractions and entertainment, what to see

There are no attractions in Shepsi, but so that vacationers are not bored, the village offers excursions to different places of the Krasnodar Territory and neighboring regions. Popular excursions to the mountains, sightseeing in Sochi and Tuapse, boat trips, trips to the waterfalls of the Krasnodar Territory. The main tourist hit, which is primarily offered to all tourists - a trip to the mountains at the campsite. Such excursions cost from 2000 rubles, called Malibu, Eagle Rock, etc., but, in fact, they are all roughly similar: off-road vehicles will take you to a campsite in the mountains, where you will visit a waterfall, a mini-zoo, wine tasting and a hearty lunch. And if you like real mountains and natural landscapes, then we recommend you to go on a one - or multi-day excursion tour to the Republic of Adygea on Lago-Naki plateau, in the villages Mezmay or Guamka, or to the Sochi Mountain Resort Rosa Khutor.

If you have experience of independent trips, you can go during the day to the resorts of Sochi or see other attractions of Tuapse and the district. In the direction of Sochi it is better to go by train, and leave personal transport in the village.
