Overview of beaches in Loo

The total length of bathing beaches in Loo is more than 4 kilometers. All of them are free and access is not limited anywhere. There are large and medium pebbles on the shore, so for a beach holiday we highly recommend immediately buying shoes for swimming such as "aquashuzas" or using rubber slippers to enter the water. In some places, the approach to the water is equipped with wooden decking, but this is rather an exception. Large gray and black sand is found only in places and away from water.

The slope of the bottom here is flat, but the shallow beaches of Loo can not be called, rather the opposite. Already 5 meters from the shore, the water reaches the shoulders of an adult, so children need to be watched carefully, especially during wind and waves. The water in the Loo is mostly transparent, but still do not forget that much depends on the weather. All beaches in Loo have a common drawback: there is a railway along the coast, and in some places very close to the water. Because of this, the number of accommodation options on the first line in Loo is very limited, and passage to the shore is made only through rare underground and above-ground crossings through the railway. • Central beach or "transparent"

  The central beach of Loo or "Transparent" is located along the embankment and near the railway station of loo, and this is the most developed part of the resort (Central on the map). It is here that most of the urban and tourist infrastructure, supermarkets, a market and most of the accommodation options, including the most budget ones, are concentrated.

  But the beach here, unfortunately, is far from ideal, or rather, it is almost gone. Previously, along the city embankment there was quite a decent and suitable beach for swimming, but waves and storms have washed it away in recent years, and they are not in a hurry to restore it. Concrete stairs for descent from the embankment to the water are in terrible condition and are covered with fences. Only at the confluence of the river Loo with the sea there was a short and narrow stretch of muddy shore, but, apparently, he did not have long. As a result, if you settle here, for a beach holiday you will have to go to the "beach at the boathouses" or "dolphin".

  

  

  

• Beach at the Ministry of emergency situations

  A small stretch of shore accessible for recreation and swimming is located immediately after the end of the embankment opposite the MES station (Beach near the Ministry of emergency situations on the map).To get to it, you have to go down the collapsed bank, littered with garbage, to the left of the station.

  It is 30 meters of large pebbles without any infrastructure surrounded by debris and concrete walls. But in the conditions of a shortage of free space in the center during the peak season, vacationers rush even here.

  

• Boathouse Beach

  Part of the beach in the center towards Sochi after the end of the embankment is informally called "beach at the boathouses" ( "at the Ellings" on the map). Here, along the coast, a number of boathouses (buildings and workshops for storing and repairing boats) are lined up, which are unofficially converted for living and rented to vacationers. There is even something like an embankment, on which there are several unpretentious cafes and immediately rooms from the boathouses go out to it. This is the best place in loo, where you can settle on the first line by the sea, and not behind the railway. True, living conditions at a high price here are quite simple: a minimum of amenities, no service, cramped rooms.

  The beach here is quite good, Pebble and small-pebble, there is even gray sand. All amenities and entertainment are there. What is bad, closer to the center of the beach strip is very narrow and crowded with vacationers, because it is here that all tourists who have chosen accommodation in the center of Loo rush, because there is simply nowhere else to swim and relax. But if you walk along the coast 5-10 minutes further from the center, the beach strip expands and vacationers become noticeably less.

  

  

  

  

• Beach sanatorium "Magadan"

  "Magadan" begins after the boathouses and stretches for several hundred meters in the direction of Uch-Dere and Aqualoo water park ( "Magadan" on the map). It is easy to get here from the center of Loo on foot along the conditional embankment along the boathouses or walk along the road. But keep in mind that you can only go here along the shore from the side of the boathouses or from the beach "Aqualoo" ("White Beach"), since from the side of the main road it is cut off by railway tracks.

  Although "Magadan" refers to the sanatorium, officially it is not a sanatorium, which means it is completely public. Indeed, you can completely unhindered pass through the conditional barrier along the shore, and relax on the shore in any place you like completely free of charge, and use the amenities of the beach for a fee. Not all vacationers know this, and often turn around in front of the warning signs at the entrance, and therefore, unlike the neighboring beach, the boathouses here are much more spacious and fewer vacationers.

• Beach "Aqualoo" or "white beach"

  Following the "Magadan" is recognized as the "White Beach", and stretches for more than 2 kilometers to the aqualoo water park, the mountain air railway station and the Uchdere microdistrict ( "Aqualoo" on the map). From the center of Loo you can get here on foot, but you have to walk more than three kilometers. Therefore, if you like this place, it is much more convenient to immediately settle here, because despite the location on the outskirts of the village, this is actually a well-developed tourist microdistrict Uch-Dere. And given the quality of the beach in the center, in our opinion, this neighborhood is even better suited for a beach holiday.

  The beach here is wide, long and publicly accessible. There are areas on it that are conditionally related to sanatoriums and hotels, but there are no restrictions and barriers to passage along the shore, everything is open. Rather, on the contrary, the staff is happy when tourists come to them on the beach and use paid services: renting a chaise longue and umbrella, massage, water activities, make orders in a cafe.

  The beach has all the traditional beach amenities and even fountains with drinking water. Renting a chaise longue under a canopy will cost 300 rubles / day, the use of changing rooms is free, toilets from 30 rubles. Since there are pebbles everywhere on the shore, for the convenience of vacationers, wooden decks are equipped-paths for approaching the water, but special shoes for swimming do not hurt at all. Buy it, by the way, you can at the tourist market at the exit to the beach on Renaissance street from 300 rubles per pair. Along Vozrozhdenie street there is even a small embankment with children's entertainment and rental of children's games. Well, and most importantly-there are a lot of vacationers here only in the very center of this area in walking distance from the Railway Station clear air, and a little to the side is a comfortable and sparsely populated beach.

  

  

  

• Dolphin

  If you go from the center of the village across the river loo, you will get to the beach "dolphin" with a length of just over 300 meters (Dolphin Beach on the map). It is far from the most beautiful and cozy, partially concrete and with large pebbles and very large stones. The view is greatly spoiled by the broken concrete of the coastal fortifications, and the cars moving almost over the heads of the vacationers do not add comfort. In general, in our opinion, this is the worst beach in Loo and one of the worst in all of Sochi, but it is quite suitable for an unassuming holiday if you want to stay in accommodation on the first line in one of the converted boathouses, closely erected almost at the water's edge. The strip of pebbles here is very narrow, there is no infrastructure and entertainment.

  

  

  

  

• Lower Khobza Beach

  The village of Nizhnyaya Khobza and its beach are located north of the center of loo, there is a train station "Lesnaya" (lower Hobza Beach on the map). From Loo, this area and the beach are separated by almost one and a half kilometers of unsuitable rocky shore for swimming, which lovers of solitude like to use as a place of solitude. If you want to get here from the center, you can go this way along the bypass road, or shorter along the railway along the shore.

  The beach of the lower Khobza itself, in our opinion (the authors of the site), is extremely unsuccessful: every 100 meters there are ugly bulk breakwaters, and a few meters from the water's edge there are concrete fortifications. But there is also a plus here - very few people even in the peak season.

Loo is a budget resort with a large selection of inexpensive accommodation options, pokhalui, the largest in all of Sochi. But you need to understand that low prices do not mean that for cheap you will get an acceptable quality here, but rather the opposite. It's just that there are a lot of inexpensive accommodation options with the most minimal amenities for very unassuming tourists. Usually budget options in Loo are a room with old furniture, uncomfortable beds and old mattresses unsuitable for comfortable sleep, with a shared toilet and shower in the courtyard, and a shared kitchen, the cleanliness of which has to be monitored by the guests themselves. Therefore, we strongly advise you to be very careful about such options, carefully study the reviews.
