Unfortunately, in loo, as in all of Greater Sochi, of which this resort is a part, it is impossible to find completely sandy beaches. Almost the entire coast of Sochi and loo, with rare exceptions, is stone and pebble, and only in rare places you can find gray sand mixed with small or medium pebbles. Now we will tell you if there are sandy beaches in Loo and where to look for them:
In total, Loo has several beaches located in different areas of the village. If you want to know about all the beaches in Loo, read here is this review. And here are places on the shore where you can find at least a little sand:
Boathouse Beach
The beach at the boathouses is perhaps the most Sandy in Loo. Gray sand here is only on a few short sections of the coast, but it lies not only on the shore, but also under water. Of course, there is very little clean sand without pebbles, but at least children will be able to find a place where you can play not only with pebbles.
"Boathouse beach" starts near the center of Loo after the end of the embankment ( "at the Ellings" on the map). Here, along the coast, a number of boathouses (buildings and workshops for storing and repairing boats) are lined up, which are unofficially converted for living and rented to vacationers. There is even something like an embankment, on which there are several unpretentious cafes and immediately rooms from the boathouses go out to it. This is the best place in loo, where you can settle on the first line by the sea, and not behind the railway. True, living conditions at a high price here are quite simple: a minimum of amenities, no service, cramped rooms.
Beach sanatorium "Magadan"
The beach of the sanatorium "Magadan" is also partially Sandy, mixed with pebbles. It is located a little further from the center than the boathouses, but there are much fewer vacationers.
"Magadan" begins immediately after the boathouses and stretches for several hundred meters in the direction of Uch-Dere and Aqualoo water park ( "Magadan" on the map). It is easy to get here from the center of Loo on foot along the conditional embankment along the boathouses or walk along the road. But keep in mind that you can only go here along the shore from the side of the boathouses or from the beach "Aqualoo" ("White Beach"), since from the side of the main road it is cut off by railway tracks.
Although "Magadan" refers to the sanatorium, officially it is not a sanatorium, which means it is completely public. Indeed, you can completely unhindered pass through the conditional barrier along the shore, and relax on the shore in any place you like completely free of charge, and use the amenities of the beach for a fee. Not all vacationers know this, and often turn around in front of the warning signs at the entrance, and therefore, unlike the neighboring beach, the boathouses here are much more spacious and fewer vacationers.
Beach "Aqualoo" or "white beach"
The beach "Aqualoo" or "white beach" is the longest in Loo, although to be more precise, it is already located almost in another village of Uch-Dere. Despite the great length, there is very little sand here. Only in a few places you can find small areas with sand, and all of them are not at the water's edge, but a dozen meters from it.
"White Beach" is located on the outskirts of Loo vole railway station "mountain air" (Aqualoo Beach on the map). From the center of Loo you can get here on foot, but you have to walk more than three kilometers. It is much easier to get by taxi or on any city bus from 28 rubles for travel.
On the shore there are all the traditional beach amenities and even fountains with drinking water. Renting a chaise longue under a canopy will cost 300 rubles / day, the use of changing rooms is free, toilets from 30 rubles.
Dolphin
"Dolphin" is one of the most unsuccessful beaches in loo, but it is located almost in the very center, and here you can stay on the first line by the sea. There is sand here too, but there is very little of it, and mostly it is hidden under water. For the most part, "Dolphin" is concrete and stones, which very few vacationers like.
"Dolphin" is on the other side of the Loo River from the center (Dolphin Beach on the map). To get to it, it is enough to cross the bridge over the river on foot and go down the footpath to the shore.
