What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting

The Hermitage-Kazan Exhibition Center is a modern space with an original design, fragrant, visually-tactile and multimedia stations and souvenirs. Hermitage-Kazan is the first branch of the Russian State Hermitage and is part of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve. Opened in 2005 in the building of the Kazan Military School, occupies the third floor of the building on the territory of the Kremlin.

Since February 23, 2023, the Center hosts a large-scale exhibition "Alexander the Great. The Way to the East", dedicated to the great commander. You can visit the exhibition until January 21, 2024. More than 400 exhibits will tell about the personality of the world-famous tsar and commander Alexander the Great, interesting facts from his life, his campaigns, countries and their culture. At the exhibition you can see objects of archeology, weapons, sculptural compositions, jewelry, a collection of coins from different countries. All presented unique artifacts from the collections of the State Hermitage and dated from the IV century BC until the end of the XIX century.

To get great emotions, in addition to the usual inspection of the main exhibits, fragrant and tactile stations, children's playgrounds are available.
