Route to the Baduk lakes - this is the easiest and probably the most beautiful hiking route from Teberda to Teberdinsky nature reserve. It is also visited with interest by tourists staying in Dombay.
Baduk lakes are mountain lakes located at altitudes from 1971 to 2000 meters. There are only three of them: the first, second and third, all lie at different heights with a difference of only a few meters. You can swim in the lakes, but the water is cold, even in summer it warms up to no more than +10℃. Despite the very clear water of the water, fish are not found here. Interestingly, all three lakes appeared relatively recently, no more than 200 years ago due to the collapse of the soil.
The route to the Lakes is not difficult, but you will have to climb up a lot: from the parking lot to the third big lake you will have to overcome 3.8 kilometers and a little more than 600 meters in height, and this, mind you, is more than 200 floors. It is worth planning 6-12 hours for a hike. The trail passes through beautiful pine forests along the Baduk River and Hadibey Creek. Along the way you will meet several waterfalls and water slides. We recommend taking a raincoat, drinking water, mosquito repellent and sun protection, warm clothes even in summer. It is better to climb in good hiking shoes (trekking or hiking boots) and with trekking poles.

the route to the Lakes is only open from May to October. The time of the route is from 08:00 to 16:00, but to walk to the lakes and have time to return, you need to go before 12:00.
💵 Entrance fee / ticket price
the lakes are located on the territory of the Teberdinsky reserve, you will have to pay 300 rubles for the entrance to the Route, children under 7 years old are free of charge.

the lakes are 13 kilometers from Teberda and 10 from Dombay on the road between them (lakes on the map. You need to get by car, taxi or bus to the parking lot and suspension bridge, there are signs on the road (parking and bridge on map. Here you need to leave the Transport, go to the other side of the river on the suspension bridge, pay the entrance to the Reserve at the checkpoint, and follow the trail.
