What to Expect and Is It Worth Visiting
A cascade of 16 waterfalls and rapids formed on one of the tributaries of the Belaya River – the Bolshoy Rufabgo Stream. For their inspection in the gorge along the stream, a hiking route with a length of about 2 kilometers is organized. Each of the waterfalls has its own name and is interesting and beautiful in its own way. The highest of them is the "Maiden Spit" with a height of 20 meters. When moving along the trail, you can enjoy the views of the forest and rocks, go through a through cave, swim in the pools of some waterfalls. At the beginning of the route there is a souvenir shop, gazebos, cafes and simple attractions.
The hiking trail is partially equipped, but the furthest waterfalls are not accessible to everyone, although special training is not required. For children under 6 years old, we do not recommend going too far along the route, otherwise you will just have to drag them on yourself. Comfortable hiking shoes, drinking water in a backpack, and no bags and extra things are required to visit, because you will need free hands. The further from the entrance you go, the more difficult the road becomes. Usually tourists walk about one and a half kilometers to the waterfall "Maiden Spit" (aka "Shoelace"), where the equipped trail ends, and return back, although you can go on for about another kilometer, to the waterfalls "Cup of Love", "Maiden Braids", and even further "Lelkin". Depending on the chosen route, it will take from 2 to 6 hours to visit the attraction.
There are two ways to get on the route and see the Rufabgo waterfalls. The first is to go to the route via a toll bridge located along the main road, there is also a parking lot for cars (entrance to the waterfalls on the map). This is the best option for unprepared tourists. In this case, you get on the trail, walk along the route as much as you want, and return back across the bridge.
The second way is free along the trail from Kamennomostsky, and go through the waterfalls in the opposite direction, exiting via a toll bridge (no exit fee is charged), or return along the trail again. The entrance to the trail from Kamennomostsky is at the end of Belinsky Street (entrance to the trail to the waterfalls on the map), as well as along Komsomolskaya Street. The most interesting route is from Komsomolskaya St., as it starts along the canyon of the Belaya River, where you can see the famous Hadjokhskaya gorge even without paying the entrance fee. Also, along the way along the river, you can go down to the river beach and a picnic area, visit several viewing platforms. Further along the trail you will be able to enter the waterfall route in several places. The longest route takes more than 6 kilometers in one direction. In addition to the free passage along this route, it is also good that you will additionally see the sights: the Turkish Bazaar; old Circassian gardens, where you can eat wild plums and raspberries; a through grotto. Of course, if you wish, you can also take this route from the paid side, i.e. pay for the entrance, explore the waterfalls, and then walk along the trail to Kamennomostsky. It is best to walk along the free route with a navigator or a map, since the trails are not marked very well, and it is easy to lose the landmark.
🕐 Working hours
it is better to visit during the day in summer, the toll passage across the bridge is open from 09:00 to 19:00.
💵 Entrance fee / ticket price
entrance to the waterfalls via the bridge is paid, adult 400 rubles; children under 12 years – 200; up to 5 years - free of charge. Entrance along the trail from the Kamennomostsky side is free of charge.
🚶 How to get there
the entrance to the waterfalls is located two kilometers from Kamennomostsky on the main road towards Guzeriplya (entrance to the waterfalls on the map).
