Waterfall maiden's tears quite unusual, formed by a lot of jets and even drops of water falling from a small height on a vertical rock. Most often, these drops do not even recognize the waterfall, but you can see only a wet rock. At the same time, it stretches for several tens of meters right along the road leading to Lake Ritsa. It is very easy to recognize this place by the many colored ribbons tied as a sign of love. This is the first attraction on the route towards the lake and Ritsa National Park and here all excursions and independent travelers make a stop for a few minutes.
The waterfall is not very spectacular, but the legends about its origin are very beautiful, and, of course, about love. According to one legend, there was once a beautiful girl who was in love with a mountain spirit. The evil sorceress was jealous of the girl's love for the spirit, and decided to destroy her. Luring the girl to a high mountain, she threw her off a cliff. The girl broke, and before her death she wept bitterly, and so the waterfall appeared, as a symbol of ruined love.
Another legend tells of an earthly couple Amra and AHRA in love. The beauty of the girl Amra was very envious of the mermaid, and when the young man AHRA was poisoned for hunting, she lured her to the rocks, and tried to throw her down. The girl sobbed before her death, and a waterfall appeared from her tears. When the tear fell into the river, the God of water rose up and turned the mermaid into stone, and with her into stone turned Achra, who was in the mermaid's hands. another waterfall, located 30 kilometers further down the road, is associated with the continuation of this legend - Male tears.

🚶 How to get there
the waterfall is right along the road to the mountain lake Ritsa (waterfall maiden's tears on the map) about 20 kilometers from the center Gagra but before the toll checkpoint to the National Park, so it is accessible for free. Transport does not go here, so you can only get there by private car, taxi, with a tour, hitchhiking or cycling. Almost every excursion to Lake Ritsa and Ritsa National Park makes a stop here.
