Stalin's dacha in New Athos as a museum, it opened quite recently, but it looks like a very old landmark: everything is dilapidated and unkempt. Nevertheless, if you are interested in the history of the Soviet period, or just have nothing to do during your vacation in New Athos, you should visit it, especially with excursion accompaniment. The dacha was built in 1947 specifically for the leader, and the place was not chosen by chance: a railway tunnel was laid here, and a branch line was made from it specifically to the residence. They built everything thoroughly from expensive Woods, furnished with captured German furniture, but everything was modest and without frills, like Stalin's other dachas. The leader himself would only visit this place six or so times, and after his death, an additional residence was built here for the top party officials to rest. They say that Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Gorbachov rested here.
In addition to the building of the museum-dacha, the territory of the complex is also interesting. There are many tropical plants growing here, there are paths and benches for recreation (though very old). And be sure to go up to the observation deck, which offers a breathtaking view of the coast.

🚶 How to get there: the cottage is located on the outskirts of New Athos, 25 minutes walk from the center (dacha on the map. Payment for the entrance is carried out at one of the checkpoints on the gate (from the side of 50 let Oktyabrya Street, and from the Novoafonsky monastery), after which you will need to walk up the hill to the buildings themselves).
