Ruins of the Bzyb temple in Abkhazia

Bzyb church (Basilica) and Fortress they were built approximately in the IX-X centuries AD (the era of the Abkhazian Kingdom), the exact dates of construction are unknown. It is a protected cultural monument, one of the few preserved in Abkhazia. The fortress was built to protect the road to the Northwest Caucasus, and belonged to a powerful feudal clan.
