Description and is it worth a visit
Monument to War Heroes (Monument for War Heroes, Martyrs' Memorial), also known as the Martyrs' Memorial, is located in the city center at the roundabout, so it is impossible to miss it while walking. The monument is dedicated to the heroes of the Vietnam War (1955-1975), who fell for the freedom and independence of the country. It is set on a hill and surrounded by a beautiful well-kept park. In the evenings, the territory is illuminated and you can meet local residents: some are walking with children, others are playing sports.
Opposite the Monument, as an addition to it, is Martyrs ' Shrine Vung Tau city (The Vung Tau War Heroes Shrine, Đền Thờ Liệt Sĩ Thành Phố Between Saint James). Despite the name, this is not exactly a temple, but rather an administrative building resembling the lobby of one of Ho Chi Minh City's many museums. At the entrance, visitors are greeted not by a Buddha statue, but by a bust of Ho Chi Minh. At the back of the hall is a wall engraved with the names of the heroes who died for this land. The ashes of several dozen of them are also kept here.
The temple is a little-visited place, and there is not much to look at here – it rather has significance as a monument for the younger generations of Vietnamese. We do not advise you to go here on purpose. Photography is allowed inside, but video recording is prohibited. When entering, you must take off your shoes and be appropriately dressed.
