Description and is it worth a visit
The pink church of the Domain de Marie (Domain De Marie Church, Mai Anh Church) is one of the three most famous and most visited Catholic churches in Dalat. There are always a lot of visitors and tour groups here. A very beautiful building of classical European architecture is located on a hill and attracts the eye with a pink color unusual for such buildings, in which the walls of the parish have been painted for many years. Thanks to this, spectacular pictures are obtained against the background of the church in clear weather. Juiciness and brightness are added by the well-groomed and decorated with flowers and green lawns of the surrounding area.
The church of the Domain de Marie was built from 1940 to 1944 on the initiative of Suzanne Humbert (wife of the Governor-General of Indochina, Jean Decoux) with donations from residents. After her tragic death in 1944 as a result of an accident, Madame Deku was buried on the territory of the church.
It is also known as the Mai Anh Church. Behind the building of the main chapel is the convent of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent de Paul and an orphanage. The courtyard of the monastery is beautifully decorated.
