Description and is it worth a visit
Linh Phuoc Pagoda (Chua Ve Chai) is the most elegant and beautiful pagoda in Dalat and the most visited temple complex, which is 100% impossible to miss. In our ranking of Dalat temples, it undoubtedly ranks first, and in general it is one of the most unusual and amazing temples in all of Vietnam. It can be said, maybe somewhat rudely, but with all due respect to faith, that this is a kind of "temple disneyland" for believers and tourists.
The pagoda is not a historical monument, it was built only in the 50s of the XX century. The uniqueness of Linh Phuoc is that it presents the most amazing temple wonders of Vietnam: the tallest bell tower; the tallest statue of Buddha indoors; the largest set of tables and chairs with zodiac signs; a Bodhisattva statue made of 650,000 artificial flowers; the longest underground tunnel under the building.
The exterior and interior decoration of the temple buildings is made of small pieces of glass, ceramics and porcelain and represents bright and colorful mosaic panels, hence the pagoda got the popular name Ve Chai. The figure of a 49-meter dragon at the main temple is decorated with pieces of colored bottle glass.
From the top floor of the bell tower offers a good view of the surroundings. A huge bell weighing more than 8 tons became the center of a "religious attraction." Here, tourists, regardless of their religious affiliation, write their wishes on paper, and then glue them to the edge of the bell. And in order for these wishes to come true with a higher probability, you also need to hit the bell with a wooden hammer. It is not surprising that a lot of visitors always gather here in this place, and the whole bell is covered with wish papers.
On the lower floor of the bell tower there are two unique halls: one symbolizes Nirvana or Paradise, and the other – Hell. Of course, the Hall of Hell is most impressive. It is located in an underground tunnel 300 meters long. The entrance to it is inconspicuous and not all tourists know about it, but be sure to find and visit. There is an impressive and shocking atmosphere with plaster statues of people facing the last judgment and sentenced to eternal torment. Scenes of torture and cruel trials very vividly and vividly demonstrate the torments of hell of sinners. So not only are these scenes shocking in themselves, but all this is also accompanied by sound and lighting effects. For a minute it becomes even creepy, although for some it may seem like a fun entertainment. Watch our video, you will understand everything for yourself.
Lin Phuoc Pagoda includes three buildings, each has something to see. There are no prohibitions not to visit the halls and ascents to the upper floors of temple buildings, you can go in and see everywhere. Despite the scope, expansion and renovation work is ongoing. Some rooms serve as exhibition halls, where furniture items (tables, chairs, figurines) made of wood and stone are presented. There are souvenir shops, peddlers sell light snacks on the street.
