Description and is it worth a visit

Originally called Adisham Bungalow, the classic English-style house was built by English aristocrat and tea planter Thomas Lester Villiers in 1931. In 1961, after the death of Sir Thomas, the house and land bought the Roman Catholic Church, and founded the Catholic monastery of St. Benedict (St Benedict's Monastery).

This is a very popular place, so many local tourists come here on weekends that it's just not crowded. The territory of the monastery is well-groomed and very beautiful, decorated with flowers in the European style. Part of the monastery building is open to the public as a museum. Inside there are only two rooms and a library furnished with antique furniture and household items that supposedly belonged to Sir Thomas. The most interesting thing here is the library with old books about travel around the world, which includes books about travel in Russia. You can try to find them. But you can not take pictures inside, this is strictly monitored. And by the way, at the entrance you will need to take off your shoes.

Also in the building of the monastery there is a shop where you can taste soft drinks or fruit salad, or buy jams made here as a souvenir. The price for a jar of jam starts from 250 rupees.
