Description and is it worth a visit
Ravana Falls height of 19 meters – one of the most popular in the vicinity of Ella, it is visited by almost all tourists. Although it is not very high, it consists of several levels and pools in which you can swim. Very popular as it is one of the few places near Ella where you can swim. Indeed, the moderately cool water in the pools is very refreshing, and therefore on weekends and holidays there are so many locals and tourists that it is simply not crowded.
There is a cafe and fast food stalls, there is parking. Previously, it was possible to climb to the very top, and further to other Rapids, which stretch for another kilometer to the upper Ravana Fall, but after several people died while climbing, it was closed, although if you wish, you can climb at your own risk on the stones. There are a lot of wild monkeys around that you can feed, but keep an eye on your things, hide everything in a backpack. To get closer to the waterfall and pools, you will have to take off your shoes. If you want to just look at it, the best view is from the bridge from the road.

🚶 How to get there
Located 8 kilometers from the center of Ella near the road towards Wellawaya (waterfall on the map). Getting here is very easy on any bus leaving from the center of Ella in the direction of Wellawaya, cost 30-50 rupees rupees, go 15 minutes. A tuk-tuk trip is unreasonably expensive: they ask for 2000 rupees in one direction (5.98 USD, see currency of Sri Lanka), but you can bargain for a trip in both directions with waiting.
